When Megha enquired of him the motive behind his attack, Sudarshan answered, "I took you to be a woman and attempted to attack you lightly, but all attacks proved unsuccessful, so I understood that you are a valiant warrior. Then I hit you with a lightning bolt, but he withstood it. I understood that you are not an ordinary woman like other women. Since for an ordinary human being to withstand the lightning is impossible, and since it has not yet hit me, I am interested in knowing who you actually are."
When Megha heard this, she laughed out loud and replied, "If you wish to learn who I am, then fight me on equal terms. After speaking these words, Megha's attire shifted. His armor was exchanged with the armor and weapons used by archers. Now she was a woman carrying a bow but her face remained covered in the oath of the visor.".
This made Sudarshan smile. He also discarded his sword and shield and transformed his attire to a bow and arrow. On witnessing this, Megha chuckled in her heart and thought that if war has to be stopped at once, then some mighty weapon must be employed and for this 'Narayanastra' would be the best.
Having this in mind, Megha spoke of Narayanastra and the mood around her shifted. A cold shiver ran over. Through this, the wise Sudarshana came to realize that Megha had plotted with Narayanastra.
Sudarshan made up his mind that he would not counter Narayanastra but would yield to its power. When Narayanastra was hurled by Megha against Sudarshan, Megha perceived the vision of Srihari Vishnu's quadrupedal appearance behind Sudarshan, and at once Narayanastra vanished as soon as it came near Rajaryan.
Looking at this, Megha realized that the warrior standing before her is not a normal individual. Therefore he saluted Sudarsana and said, "O Sudarsana, you are not a common person but a clean Vais ̣ n ̣ ava. I salute you and ask you to introduce yourself."
Sudarshan nodded and winked. They were again on the battlefield the next moment. Sudarsana then said, "O Megha, undoubtedly you are part of some divine force. Otherwise no man or woman on the entire earth is capable of confronting me and besides, he has got mastery over Narayanastra, which is not possible for a common woman. Hence, I too bow down to you and pray to you to reveal yourself."
Megha also winked and gestured smilingly. They both removed their masks simultaneously. As they saw each other's faces, the earth trembled under their feet. Sudarshan looked at Megha and spoke, "Devika, are you here?"
Megha couldn't believe her eyes and uttered, "Sudarshan, haan.! That's your identity! Are you alone?
"Megha is Devika," said Aryavardhan, hiding behind Sudarshan's disguise. The same disrupted any flow that could have set between the two. Megha stood there hearing, feeling uncomfortable. The presence of the warrior in front of her was none other than the emperor of all of India. King Vishwar and his wife Vrinda overheard the conversation between Sudarshan and Megha in the field. Immediately King Vishwar asked General Chitraketu, "Hey, Chitraketu! Is your warrior in the field indeed my Maharaja Aryavardhan?"
