Laughter in Darkness

A suspense, romantic and psychological thriller

By

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

“Just keep yourself in company always. Whenever you have an experience which you have in the kitchen and grandma’s room, just hold someone tightly. If you are physically touching or holding some other person, that spirit cannot enter into you.” Aravind said.

“I sure do follow your suggestion, I have no intention to accommodate a spirit in my body whatever may be the reason for its trying like that.” Sameera said. “But how long I can keep myself in company with other people? All the twenty four hours I cannot keep myself in company.”

“Not necessary. I don’t think that you do face a problem like that once you go out of this house.” Aravind said.

“Anyhow what about that snake’s matter. This time also was it just the imagination of my mom?” Arjun asked

“Yes, Aravind. I forgot. Why I have seen the same black snake again?” Sameera asked him.

“In fact I am having another doubt also.” Aravind said thought fully. “It may be the bad angel Mukinni who is trying to enter into you and the black snake also nothing but it is.”

“I cannot understand what you are saying.” With lot of confusion in her face Sameera said.

“The main bad angel I have adored was Mukinni. Mukinni is a snake body and female headed bad angel. It is very angry on me that I have stopped adoring it now. So it is trying to enter into you as you are my wife. Then it can make me suffer in several ways.”

“But there was no female head to the snake I have seen.” Sameera said. What just Aravind said created lot of panic in her.

“Not necessary to Mukinni to appear in its full actual form. If it was a real snake, it could not vanish that fast. There was no necessity to you to imagine black snake like that time and again.” Aravind said.

“I have seen this black snake last time also. Was it Mukinni then too?” Sameera knitted her brows together.

“Could be. Then and now also it could be only Mukinni.” Hissing out heavily, Aravind said.

“Then it is not a spirit that has been trying to enter into my body.” With gathered frowns Sameera asked her.

“But it is quite rare that a bad angel enter into a human body even it happened sometimes before. That is why I cannot think like that.” Aravind said.

“But Sameera’s seeing a black snake making what you have said now is something more possible than what you have said before. Mukinni is trying to enter into the body of your wife than a spirit.” Anand said.

“You are right.” Aravind said. “But the same idea keeps you immune from being a medium to a spirit or bad angel. Just be in company always.”

“But Aravind, this Mukinni has been trying to enter into me as you have stopped adoring it. What is that guarantee that it would not do so when I go away from here also?” once again Sameera’s face wrinkled with even more increased fear.

“I don’t think so. This thing has started in this house only and it may stop once we go out of this house. Moreover I try to adore and appease Mukunni once I go away from here. There is one more reason in my thinking that it is Mukunni and not a spirit trying to enter into you.” Aravind said.

“Tell us what it is?” Anand asked him.

“If it is a spirit it would have tried to contact us in the séance. No spirit can remain without exposing itself while a séance is going on.”

“One thing I want to ask here” Sunanda said. “Why it is not one of the spirits which contacted us in the séance is trying to enter into Sameera?”

“I did not think in that way. There is such a possibility also.” Aravind said. “Anyhow the bottom line is, Sameera you should not try to be alone anywhere. Keep yourself in close touch with someone and if you have got the same symptoms again clutch that person strongly.”

“If it is the case it is quite advisable that you keep yourself closely with Aravind” Anand smiled and said.

“It is even more better if you clutch him always without leaving.” Sunanda said.

“Alright, alright” Sameera said angrily and her cheeks were blushed hearing that.

Rose, Neeraja and Emily were in their room again. Emily comfortably laid herself on the bed while Rose and Neeraja sat facing each other in the chairs.

“It seems that there is no end to the strange things here.” Neeraja said. “I cannot understand what really is happening.”

Rose sighed heavily and said “I too am in as much confusion as you are. Even I am forced to believe in paranormal, I cannot take every nonsense as paranormal. I have a clash with that famous psychiatrist Sahamooti just because our opinions differed with respect to paranormal.”

“You said to me about that Sahamooti.” Neeraja said. “You also have said what types of incidents have happened in his life. There is no surprise that he believes in paranormal.”

“Yes, but still something in me is suffering. It is just like I am agreeing defeat. I just cannot get rid of the feeling agreeing with paranormal is a defeat to me as a psychiatrist. My consciousness does not agree to believe in paranormal.” Rose said.

“To that matter our consciousness itself is a big paranormal.” Neeraja said. “Just think how in this bag of blood, muscle, bones and other matter, the feelings and thoughts do happen? Why really we cannot see these feelings and thoughts as we can see the other material things? What really is causing these thoughts, feelings, imaginations, hallucinations, etc.?”

“Are not you thinking our brain is the cause for these things?” Rose knitted her brows together.

“No, my consciousness is not agreeing that just a piece of meat is the cause for these things and the feeling of I” Neeraja nodded her head in negation and said.

Rose hissed out heavily and said. “We both are on the same level of thinking, the same level of believing and the same level of suffering. I think this confusion in us continue as long as we live.”

“No confusion is necessary”

Rose and Neeraja startled on hearing Emily talking like that. They were thinking that she was sleeping.

“Even the science may be a half truth but paranormal is the real and full truth. After this night there would be no doubt in you about paranormal. You do get an undisputable proof about the existence of the spirits.” She was talking in sleeping. Until that moment she never talked in her sleep so.

“How it is going to be so?” with knitted brows, Rose asked her.

“You both are going to be turned into spirits. No one does leave this house alive.”

Both Rose and Neeraja looked into each other’s faces.

“Emily, get up. What you are talking?” Rose went near to her daughter and slapped her on her both cheeks enough strong to make her wake up.

“Mom, what happened?”with a confusing expression on her face Emily sat on the bed and looked into the face of her mother.

“You just have said something now, don’t you remember what you have said?” looking angrily into her face, Rose asked her.

“Mom, I don’t know anything. I am just sleeping all the time.” Continuing the same confusing expression in her face, Emily said.

“Its alright Rose. Forget about it and come back.” Neeraja said.

“Its not alright Neeraja. Why did Emily talk like this? I must know.” With an irritating expression on her face Rose said and the uneasy feeling in her heart has become even more. Was it going to happen as Emily said?

“Mom, I really don’t know what I have talked. Might be I was dreaming and talked like that.” Emily said with a helpless expression in her face.

“Did you get any dream just before you woke up?” Neeraja asked her.

“No, I don’t remember any dream. I am just thinking like that.”

Neeraja went near to Rose and put her right hand on her left shoulder. “Leave it Rose. There is no danger whatsoever by Emily’s talking like that. Just come and relax yourself.”

“But…but…” Rose still tried to say something.

“Listen to me. Just relax yourself.” Dragging her towards the chair she sat before Neeraja said.

Rose slumped herself in that chair, leaned back, closed her eyes and sighed out heavily. Neeraja sat in the same chair in which she sat before.

“If you want you may continue your sleeping Emily.” Looking at Emily, Neeraja said.

“No I cannot sleep anymore.” Emily squatted in the centre of the bed.

“First thing Rose you stop feeling worry for each and everything.” Neeraja said.

“Why Emily talked like that, why?” once again Rose’s face became red with anger. “Does she want to make us feel fear like this? Is she is having some thrill feeling in doing like this?”

“I promise mom, I have no intention like that. I never can have thrill feeling in making you people feel fear.” With a sad expression in her face, Emily said.

“Rose please leave this matter for the present. If Emily behaves in this way even after we go out of this house, then we shall think about it.”  Neeraja said.

“I just can’t….” Rose tried to say something more.

“I am thinking that there is something odd with this house itself. Everything will be alright once we go out of this house. Please stop talking about it for the present.” With firmness Neeraja said.

“Alright then” Rose nodded her head.

“Mom, would you give your smart phone to me? I do see if I can have some fun with it.” Emily asked her mother.

“Why not, take it?” Rose gave her smart phone which was in her hands at that time to her daughter.

Rose and Neeraja once again put themselves into talking while Emily was going through that cell phone.

“After I have rejected you so, I did not think, that you do come again to me” looking into Neeraja’s face with passionate eyes and putting his both hands around her neck, Aravind said.

“I thought that you have changed your mind so I have come.” Neeraja said and kissed on his lips smoothly. “My hope did not go in vain.”

“I must be a fool to reject a beauty like you when offered herself.” He hugged her strongly and kissed on her both cheeks perfunctorily. It was just like in seventh heaven to him while her body was being crushed in his tight hug.

“Is it is not the bed a convenient place for all this?” holding him gently in her hand and reciprocating with his kisses, Neeraja asked him.

“Yes, of course. It will be so good on the bed.” He led her towards the bed and laid her gently on it. While he was putting himself working on her youth parts vigorously, she held him gently in her hold. “My god! I just cannot believe it!” he whispered in her left year.

“Somethings we never can believe happening.” She said in the same whispering tone.

He kissed on that left ear and about to proceed downwards then there was an earsplitting thunderstorm and Aravind startled and opened his eyes. He was all alone on the bed in that room and Neeraja was not with him. The he understood it was all just his dream.
