Split Personality

A romantic, paranormal and psychological thriller

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

“My god! No one should have forced sex with a woman like that even with a prostitute.” Charakka’s face was filled with a horrifying expression. “That too when she was a pregnant also.”

“That Amsara did not protect me then. He just allowed them to do whatever they want with my body.” The anger in her was not diminished even a little bit.

“That is not true. He protected you and your child also. That was why even after their gang-rape also nothing happened to Okatho and she took birth and became as much beautiful as you are.” Charakka said while looking at Okatho.

“But what about that ghastly incident? How he could allow a helpless pregnant woman suffer like that in the hands of those brutes?”

“That is the weakness of Amsara. He enjoys sex. He enjoyed what was happening to you at that time.”

“I just cannot adore a god who can enjoy the torturing of a helpless woman like that.” Now there was determination on her face. “All of the time I just hate that god with whole of my heart.”

“But don’t you know how dangerous it is to do like that? He punishes very severely all those who go against him. If you behave like this, he not only leave you people in poverty just like this forever but punishes you all also. Just because of your behaviour, all your family members also would be punished.” There was an anxious expression in the face of Charakka.

“I just don’t bother. I am following the path of god and praying him to show us a way to escape from this hellhole and live a respectable life. My life has spoiled from beginning to end but atleast my children should lead a respectable life.”

“This is the way she is talking! She just does not listen however many times I say how impossible and dangerous it is to her.” With a worrying expression in his face Mavamavayi said.

“I don’t know what to say. I just don’t know.” With a small voice Charakka said.

While they were talking a gentleman entered into the house and looking at him Vesavaviri, Mavamavayi and Charkka also stood up. Okatho and Evalla sat by that time at the places where they stood before and started observing what was happening.

“You people might have forgotten me. I am Silavalavo. The brother of Inchuvario who left this village long time back to earn money. I went abroad and returned to my village again only after I have satisfied with my earning there.” He paused for a second and Mavamavayi opened his mouth to say something but before he said anything Silavalavo himself said. “I know you both. You both were quite good friends in those days. It seems you both are just like now a day also.”

“To be frank sir” Charakka said. “I also left this village a little later after you left and return to this village just before you return. I also earned some but I fear that I did not earn as much as you did.”

“That means you can remember me.” There was a smile on the lips of Silavalavo.

“What is that sir? We all very well remember you! You were quite a handsome guy in those days itself and you are appearing just like that now a day also. I guess you have married and have children also now.” Mavamavayi came little nearer to him and said.

“Of course, I married. But quite unluckily even within three years of my marriage my wife died in an accident before giving me any children. After that I have lost all my interest in wife and children and lived as a loner till now and I wish to live like that from now on also.” Suddenly there was a sorrowful expression in his face.

“My deep condolences for that sir.” Mavamavayi said taking two steps nearer to him. “Anyhow I don’t want to waste your precious time. I can see only one purpose behind your coming here. You want to have it with Vesavaviri, is it is not?”

“Of course, you are right.” There was a small smile on the lips of Silavalavo and now he was observing Vesavaviri. “She is as much beautiful now as she was then! Just like a flower! I saw you both many a time together in those days. I think you are her pimp now.”

“Not just her pimp but her husband also.” Mavamavayi laughed. “I am considered as a father to these two girls also.” Then Mavamavayi looked at the two girls who sat there.

“Beautiful! I must say both these girls are more beautiful than their mother.” There was a genuine appreciative expression on the face of Silavalavo then. “How much I want to have it with them once they become women!”

“You hundred percent can have it. First has the pleasure to have it with their mother.” Looking fearfully into the face of Vesavaviri, Mavamavayi said and then looked at both girls there. “You both go outside and play. Don’t come home until it is evening.”

Okatho and Evalla looked into each other’s face, got off from the floor and left that place.

“We also better go out and come in the evening.” Looking meaning fully into the face of Charakka, Mavamavayi said. “Mava knows how to entertain the guests like Silavalavo.”

“I worked at a rich man who has an orphanage also in the town and as he was generous also I could earn enough. After earning enough I wanted to come to my village and came.” While walking along with Mavamavayi, Charakka said.

“What is there to do in this village?” Mavamavayi said sighing heavily. “I can understand why you have come here. You have developed unnecessary sentiment on this village.”

“Of course, yes. But there is another purpose also for my coming here again.” suddenly Charkka stopped and said and Mavamavayi also stopped and looked surprisingly into his face. “To fuck Vesa. I was so much fascinated by her in those days itself but I did not have any money to do that with her then. You know her grandmother well. She did not allow anyone come near to the women in that family until he has lot of money with him.”

“Is this something that you need to say like this?” Mavamayi laughed. “Have it with her whenever you want and there shall be concession also to you as you are a good friend to me too.”

“There is no necessity like that. I just pay as everyone pays for it.” Charakka said. “Can she give it to me on the night of this day itself?”

“Oh, sure. There is no problem.”Mavamavayi nodded his head. “Anyhow where do you reside?”

“I just don’t know. My hut is completely dilapidated I cannot stay in that at all. It costs me a lot to make it useful again.” With a worrying expression in his face Charakka said.

“Then you may better reside in our house itself.” Mavamavayi said. “As you decide to help our family, we very happily can give accommodation to you in our house.”

“What would have happened to us if we allowed to stay in the house itself, we have been sent out like this!” Okatho angrily said. “Every time a guy entered into our house, we have been sent out. I just don’t know what is taking place.”

“I too don’t know what is taking place!” with a puzzling expression in her face Evalla said. “I asked many a time to mom what is happening but she did not say anything. What all she says is; we must not suffer in the way she is suffering. If it is suffering why she is facing it at all? Father is not saying even that when I asked him about it.”

“Mother is not saying, father is not saying and how we can know about it?” there came a puzzling expression in the face of Okatho. “You saw the new man who talked with our mom and dad a long time?”

“Did you mean that man after whose coming we both have been asked to leave the house?” Evalla asked.

“No, not he. He did not talk anything with our mother, did not you notice? I am talking about the man who came before him into our house.”

“Of course I remember!” Evalla laughed. “He is appearing as a nice guy.”

“By the conversation I understood that he is going to stay in our home. We may better ask him our questions and I hope atleast he would answer them to us.” Okatho said.

“Why you are thinking that he would answer our questions?” Evalla knitted her brows together.

“I don’t know but just a hunch.” Okatho said. “Anyhow what is the loss if we ask him?” then her face suddenly brightened. “Just see he is coming here!”

“What you both little beautiful girls doing here?” he looked into the faces of both the girls and asked them. “What work you both got here?”

“This river bank is so much enjoyable to us.” Okatho said. “We prefer to come here everyday and play.”

“Is that so?” Charakka nodded his head. “Anyhow ever you saw Pomya here?”

“Who is that Pomya?” Okatho and Evalla exchanged surprising glances and Evalla said. “First tell who is Pomya and what she or he does. Then we can tell you whether we saw her or not.”

“She is a devotee of Amsara and appears to the people who are the devotees of Amsara and to those who are like by that god. It was she who appeared to your grandfather Michivako, inspired and guided him to adore Amsara. She mostly appears to her devotees on the bank of this river.”

“Our great great grandfather saw Pomya here? This river is here for such a long time?” Okatho surprised on hearing that.

“This river and this village Obbera have been in existence for a very very long time even before your great great grandfather Michivako.” Charakka smiled.

“I saw the photo of my great great grandfather and he is very much handsome. I don’t know why but I am very much attracted towards him.” Evalla said.

“It is surprising! On one hand your mother does not like that Michivako at all and her own daughter you are being attracted by him so.” There was surprise on the face of Charakka.

“But I am of the same opinion and feeling mother has. I too don’t like that man Michivako.” Okatho’s face was filled with a disgusting expression.

“Do you know why your mother doesn’t like Michivako?”Charakka looked into the face of Okatho.

“I don’t know.” There was confusion in the face of Okatho but she said with firm voice. “But whatever mother does not like, I don’t like. I am my mother’s daughter.”

“Alright Charakka. We both want to ask you a question.” Suddenly Okatho remembered what she and her sister wanted to ask him. “You have to answer it for us.”

“You may ask any number of questions and I promise you that I answer them providing I know the answers.” With a sincere expression in his face Charakka said.

Okatho and Evalla exchanged glances once again before Okatho put forward that question. “All those men who came to our house are doing to my mother and why we both are sent out every time a man entered into our house?”

“Did you ask this question to your mother and father?” still looking into the face of Okatho, Charakka asked her.

“We have been asking this question to both of them but they are avoiding answering it.” It was Evalla.

“That means you also don’t know about it and want to know the answer.” This time Charakka looked into the face of Evalla.

“If my sister who is two or so years older to me doesn’t know the answer to it how you can expect I know the answer?” Evalla said with an irritating expression. “Yes, I am also as much eager as my sister to know about the answer.”
