HEIRS OF HEART - 17

Later that day, Roohi sent Aryan a letter explaining her plan in detail. She had carefully thought out every step, and she was confident that it would work.

On the day of their plan's execution, Aryan called Shruti and told her to get ready. "I'm taking you somewhere," he said, his voice mysterious and intriguing.

Shruti's curiosity was piqued, but she didn't press him for more information. Instead, she got ready, wondering where Aryan was taking her.

Meanwhile, at the Rai palace, Roohi explained her plan to Siddharth. "Do you really think it will work?" Siddharth asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

Roohi nodded confidently. "My plans always work, bhaiya," she said, a proud smile spreading across her face.

Siddharth nodded, knowing that Roohi was right. Her plans usually did work, and he had no reason to doubt her this time.

At the Singh palace, Shruti descended the staircase, looking beautiful in a yellow sundress. She found Aryan waiting for her in the main hall, a charming smile on his face.

"Here you are, come on, let's go," he said, offering her his arm.

Shruti took it, and Aryan escorted her to the car. As they drove away, Shruti asked, "Where are you taking me?"

Aryan winked at her. "It's a surprise."

Shruti rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "God, you and your surprises."

Aryan chuckled and continued driving. After an hour, Shruti asked, "When will we reach? An hour has already passed."

Aryan replied, "Just a few hours more."

Shruti's eyes widened in surprise. "A few hours?! Where in the world are we going?"

Aryan just smiled and said, "I told you it's a surprise."

Shruti sighed and settled back into her seat, wondering where Aryan was taking her.

After a few hours of riding, they finally reached their destination. Aryan climbed out of the car and helped Shruti out. As she stepped out onto the sand, she gasped in wonder.

They were at the beach, and the sun was setting over the ocean, casting a golden glow over everything. Shruti was mesmerized by the beautiful view in front of her, and she felt her heart fill with joy and wonder.

As the sun began to set over the ocean, Aryan and Shruti walked hand in hand to the sea shore. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore filled the air, and the smell of saltwater wafted through the breeze.

"You just wait here for a while, I'll be right back," Aryan said, a mischievous glint in his eye.

Shruti looked at him curiously. "What? Where are you going?" she asked.

Aryan smiled. "To bring your surprise," he said, and with that, he turned and walked away, leaving Shruti standing alone on the beach.

Shruti stood there, gazing out at the sunset, her mind wondering what Aryan's surprise could be. As she stood there, she heard the sound of footsteps behind her. She turned, expecting to see Aryan, but instead, she saw Siddharth standing behind her.

Shruti's smile faded, and she felt a pang of discomfort. "What are you doing here?" she asked, trying to keep her tone neutral.

Siddharth took a step closer to her, his eyes filled with a deep longing. "I want to tell you something," he said, his voice low and husky.

Shruti tried to walk away, but Siddharth quickly sat down on his knees, blocking her way. Shruti was taken aback by his sudden movement, and she looked at him in surprise.

Siddharth looked up at her, his eyes pleading. "Please," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Shruti's heart ached at the sight of him sitting there, looking so vulnerable. She sighed, feeling a pang of guilt. "Fine," she said. "Stand up first."

Siddharth quickly stood up, his eyes never leaving hers. "What is it?" Shruti asked, her voice a little softer now.

Siddharth hesitated for a moment before asking, "Should we sit first?"

Shruti sighed and sat down on the cold sand, Siddharth sitting down beside her.

Meanwhile, Roohi and Aryan were hiding behind their car, watching the scene unfold before them. "Why isn't he saying anything?" Aryan whispered.

Roohi smiled. "Feelings take time," she replied.

Aryan nodded, his eyes fixed on the couple sitting on the beach. "Oh."

Roohi nudged him. "Now shut up and let me hear them."

Aryan nodded, but instead of focusing on Siddharth and Shruti, he found himself gazing at Roohi's profile, her eyes fixed intently on the couple.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Siddharth finally spoke, his voice filled with emotion. "Shruti, whatever you saw at my office that time, it's all a huge misunderstanding."

Shruti turned to him, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Why should I believe you?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.

Both of them looked out at the sunset, the sky painted with hues of orange and pink. "Believing me or not is up to you, but I really want to tell you this," Siddharth said, his voice filled with sincerity.

"She was Miss Oberoi, the heiress of the Oberoi groups of company," he explained. "I was engaged to her two years ago."

Shruti looked up at him in surprise, her eyes wide with curiosity. "But it was not out of love," Siddharth added quickly.

After a second of silence, he spoke again, his voice filled with conviction. "It was purely out of business. Her dad wanted to merge our companies."

Shruti's eyes sparkled with understanding. "Then why didn't you marry her?" she asked, her voice softer now.

Siddharth's expression turned grim. "Because I came to know that she was bullying Roohi," he said, his voice filled with anger. "Roohi was only nineteen at that time, and she was being so rude to her. And one day when she humiliated Roohi in front of her friends, I got angry and broke the engagement."

He turned to Shruti, his eyes filled with emotion. "Whatever happened at the office was truly a misunderstanding," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.

Shruti looked into his eyes for the first time in a while, and she knew that Siddharth loved Roohi the most and couldn't possibly be with a woman who couldn't love Roohi like he did. Shruti's gaze softened, and she felt her heart melt.

Siddharth took Shruti's hand in his, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "I wanted to tell you this properly, but seeing the circumstances, I think I should not delay anymore," he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Shruti's heartbeat fastened as she probably knew what he was going to say. "I'm really sorry for not clearing the misunderstanding sooner," he said, his voice filled with regret.

Siddharth's eyes locked onto hers, and he said the words that Shruti had been longing to hear. "Shruti...I love you."

Shruti's heart was beating so fast that she couldn't think straight. And in a split second, tears started rolling down her cheeks as she threw herself into his arms. Siddharth was surprised at first, but then he wrapped his arms tightly around her.

"I love you too," she said, her voice muffled against his chest.

After a few minutes, she pulled away, and they both looked at each other intently. Their faces grew closer unintentionally, and before they knew it, their lips touched. They kissed passionately, the sunset fading into the background.

Meanwhile, Roohi and Aryan, who were hiding behind their car, were happy to see Siddharth and Shruti's confession. However, they got awkward and embarrassed as the kissing scene unfolded before them.

Roohi turned her head to avoid the scene, but she caught Aryan looking at her. Their eyes locked for a minute, and they both looked away, embarrassed. The tension between them was palpable, and Roohi couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest.

As Siddharth and Shruti pulled away from each other, Roohi and Aryan walked towards them, big smiles on their faces. Roohi ran towards her brother, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug.

"Congratulations, bhaiya!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement and happiness.

As she hugged Siddharth, she glanced over at Shruti, who was standing beside him, her face turned bright red in embarrassment. Roohi could tell that Shruti was mortified, realizing that they must have seen her and Siddharth kissing.

Roohi couldn't resist teasing Shruti a little. She nudged Shruti's shoulder playfully. "Congratulations to you too, Shruti bhabhi," she said, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.

The mention of "bhabhi" (sister-in-law) made Shruti blush even more, her face turning an even deeper shade of red. Roohi giggled, happy to see her brother and Shruti so happy together.

Aryan, who had been standing quietly beside Roohi, smiled and nodded in congratulations, his eyes shining with warmth and happiness. The four of them stood there for a moment, basking in the joy and happiness of the moment, the sunset casting a warm glow over them.
