Vrisha’s POV:
Days Turned Into Weeks
Time passed, and despite the effort I put into work and into trying to repair my relationship with Arjun, the guilt of my mistake haunted me. I had become adept at hiding it, but there were days when I couldn’t shake the feeling that everything was slowly unraveling.
I had started to avoid thinking about that strange man, yet I couldn't forget that encounter. I still remembered the heat of his touch, the overwhelming chemistry that had sparked between us. I didn’t want to admit it, but there was something about him I couldn't forget. Was I just lonely? Was I just filling a void that had been left behind by my complicated relationship with Arjun? Or was there more to it?
As I lay in bed one night, Would I ever be able to forgive myself? Would I ever find a way to make things right with Arjun?
Third Person's Pov
Vrisha stared at the sleek glass table in front of her, her fingers drumming against the surface absentmindedly. Her phone buzzed again in her pocket, and she instinctively glanced down, catching Arjun’s name flashing on the screen. He’d been calling her non-stop since earlier, but she couldn’t pick up right now. Not with her boss’s speech dragging on in the stuffy meeting room.
She sat back in her chair, trying to suppress a yawn as the MD droned on about "corporate investment opportunities" and "expanding global reach." She already knew the spiel—this wasn’t the first time she’d sat through these kinds of meetings, and it wasn’t like she didn’t care about the future of the company. But it all felt so… boring.
"...and with that, all of you must remember, the founder and CEO of ACL Technologies will be visiting next week. I want each and every one of you to make an impression. We need them to see our potential. We need their investment. Don’t forget, this is an opportunity of a lifetime."
The MD's voice had an edge of finality to it, and with that, the meeting wrapped up. Everyone slowly began to gather their things, murmuring amongst themselves, probably strategizing how to put on a good face for the big shot.
Vrisha gathered her notes, but her mind wandered. The founder and CEO of ACL Technologies? She couldn’t help but wonder what kind of person he is. She’d heard bits and pieces of his reputation—charismatic, ambitious, and ruthless when it came to business. But no one had ever seen him up close.
Her phone buzzed again, this time vibrating against the table. She glanced down, her heart sinking a little as she saw Arjun’s name flash on the screen again.
Why won’t he stop?
But before she could even think about silencing the phone, someone’s voice broke through her thoughts.
"Vrisha."
She looked up, surprised to see her boss, standing beside her.
"Yes?" she replied, tucking her phone into her bag and sitting up straighter.
"Remember, the CEO of ACL Technologies is a big deal. This could make or break our chances. We need you to be prepared. You're good with people. Get your head in the game, okay?"
Vrisha nodded, feeling the weight of his words settle in. She wasn’t exactly sure how much of an impact she could make in a room full of people who all seemed way more important than her. But she had no choice but to try.
As the meeting dispersed, Vrisha gathered her things, quickly walking out of the conference room. Her thoughts were still scattered, but the idea of meeting the CEO, of seeing who he was, lingered in her mind.

Dino stepped out of the sleek, black SUV and surveyed the towering glass building in front of him. ACL Technologies. This was it.
The company he had been considering for an investment for months. A solid, fast-growing tech startup with a lot of potential—if they could just find the right leadership to push them forward. And that's where he came in. As the founder and CEO of ACL, he was the key to opening doors.
He adjusted the collar of his shirt, exhaling slowly. Focus, Dino. You’ve got this.
He had been on a whirlwind tour of meetings, business lunches, and negotiations for the past week, but something about Mumbai always felt different. The energy, the people—it was chaotic, but it was the kind of chaos he thrived in.
As he walked through the front doors, the sounds of murmured greetings and the rustling of busy employees filled the air. He walked with purpose, his mind already on the presentation ahead. But as he passed through the lobby, something—someone—caught his eye.
She was standing by the elevator, her back turned to him as she adjusted her blazer, but there was something unmistakable about the way she moved.
It was her.
The woman.
The one he couldn’t forget.
The woman he couldn’t stop thinking about.
His heart skipped a beat, and before he could stop himself, he felt a sudden rush of heat. The memory of her face—the way she had looked at him, the way she had made him feel that night, flooded back. The chemistry had been instant. Unexpected. And now, seeing her again, in the same place, made it all feel even more real. He couldn’t help but watch her for a moment longer, his eyes lingering on her, though she hadn’t noticed him yet.
Damn it, he thought, shaking himself out of the trance. He had to focus. This was a business trip, not a chance to rekindle whatever insane pull they’d shared.
But the way his heart pounded in his chest, the way his body tensed, told him something else.
He didn’t want to let her go.
Not this time.

Vrisha walked into the elevator, her mind still racing with the events of the meeting. She had barely processed anything, but one thing was clear—she had to impress whoever this CEO was.
