Split Personality

A romantic, paranormal and psychological thriller

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

“You are quite right in your feeling like that. You have every right to despise me.” This time Evalla looked into the face of Prameela. “Even you think that I have entered into your family like this only for your money, I don’t say you are wrong.”

“Then you became the wife of my dad only for money?” Prameela knitted her brows together .

“It is one of the reasons but not the main reason” Evalla once again hung her head “I don’t know how to convince you but I did not marry your dad only for money. In fact I myself don’t know the reason why I married him.” She perched her head up and looked straight into the face of Prameela then. “I have not told this even to him also till now. I just don’t know why but I strongly felt I born only for him and we have strong relationship in our previous lives also. That was why I could express him straight like that to marry me and it happened so.”

“Really! It is very much surprising to me hear! Tell me everything how you both have been met and how the love thing happened between you both.” Prameela with a curious expression knitted her brows together.

Then Evalla expressed everything what has taken place at the movie producing place and how she has expressed herself to her father and the rest.

“Your father is a handsome personality and a rich person! It is not surprising that a girl like me attracted towards him and wanted to marry him. But how an ordinary girl could dare to express like that to him? It was just because subconsciously I felt so strongly that we both borne for each other and he would not deny. So I have expressed like that to him and it has happened in the same I thought.” Then Evalla sighed heavily as there was nothing more to say.

“Surprising and unbelievable but looking into your face I can say it is hundred percent true.” Prameela this time put her right hand around her shoulders and took her near to her. “Whatever may be the reason you became a very important person to me also. An important person to my dad is an important person to me too.”

“Thank you, thank you very much!” Evalla looked into the face of Prameela with full happy expression.

“You need not thank me at all. What all you have to do is keep my dad happy always. You just don’t know how much my dad loves me and how much he did for me and is still doing for me. I don’t mind your sharing some of that love but it is your responsibility to keep my dad always happy.”

“I never forget that. It is always uppermost in my mind.” The sudden change in the voice of Evalla made Prameela looked sharply into her face. “Okatho always keeps her mission.”

“Okatho? Your name is Evalla, is it is not?”

“No, I am Okatho who is always keen on what she has to do.” Then Evalla started laughing hysterically.

“What happened to you? Why you are behaving suddenly like this?” Prameela got off from the bed while looking shockingly into the face of Evalla.

Evalla’s face suddenly became serious and she also got off from the bed. “I need not answer all your questions. But I am always keen on what I have to do. I hundred percent fulfil my mission.”

“What is your mission? To get complete hold on our properties and make my dad and me move away from the house?” Prameela’s face filled with anger.

“I told you I need not answer any of your questions.” After saying that Evalla moved away from that room fast.

“Dad, this is the way she behaved with me! I want to be good with her, be friendly with her but.......” Prameela stopped in the mid-sentence as she did not know what to say then. Prameela also entered into her father’s room on the back of Evalla.

“I am sorry. I am absolutely sorry. I just don’t know how I have behaved with you.” Burst out into weeping Evalla said.

“That is the problem with her Pramee. Sometimes she behaves like that and she does not know why she is behaving in such a way.  That is why I called the psychiatrist Dr.Rose to come here and see her. I already told you, that Dr.Rose said Evalla has been suffering from split-personality disorder and it needs some systematic treatment.” With a distressing expression in his face Viswanadh said.

Prameela slumped in a chair nearby to the bed still feeling shock and said looking at her father and Evalla. “You both also may please be sit. I think we three need to have some talk.”

Viswanadh and Evalla looked into each other’s faces and sat side by side on the bed.

“I know about this split personality disorder. I read about it in books and there are some movies also on it.” Leaning back in the chair and adjusting herself for more comfort Prameela said.

“I too. But I never have thought I myself would be subjected to this disorder.” With an uneasy and sorrowful expression in her face Evalla said.

“Okatho, is it is the other personality’s name in Evalla?” Prameela knitted her brows together.

“Yes, dear. You are right. That is the other personality’s name in her”  Viswanadh said. “She is saying that she never heard such a name in her entire life. In fact she does not know whether it is male or female.”

“When it all has started dad? When the first time you came to know about it?”

“I don’t know when exactly it has started in her but I can say when it first came into my notice.” Then Viswanadh explained to her everything which he said to Rose.

“Very much surprising! Why she should suffer from such a problem?” Prameela’s face was with full of surprise once again.

“I want to tell you what that Rose said regarding the reasons for split-personalities. I don’t mind Evalla also hearing about it. In fact I am thinking that it is important she also knows about it.” Then he explained to Prameela what he learnt from Rose regarding how split-personalities would happen.

“Considering the back ground of Evalla there is no surprise at all that she has been subjected to a split personality problem.” Looking into the face of Evalla, Viswanadh said. “Even Evalla does not like at all my saying, I have to say her life has not been in a healthy and promising environment. We just don’t know what types of problems she faced.”

“I never mind your saying so.” Nodding her head Evalla said. “I don’t remember anything about my childhood but later on life in the orphanage also was not very much glorious to tell other people. In fact I don’t know when exactly I have been taken into that orphanage. When I have got knowledge of myself, I was in that orphanage and there is no record whatsoever there who put me in that orphanage.”

“Alright dad. When that psychiatrist going to start anything for Evalla? How long it is going to take to make our Evalla completely normal?”

“For that I am feeling anxiousness in fact.” Then he explained what Rose said to him. “In her opinion curing this split personality is not an easier thing to do. It needs systematic treatment and takes time.” And he told her what Rose asked him to do also.

“Dad did you inquire about that psychiatrist? Are you thinking that she is hundred percent capable to treat our Evalla?”

“She was recommended by Sahamooti who is a great psychiatrist and best friend to my dad. She has been working in Black Ant Mental Care and a very reputed and famous psychiatrist. BAMC also is a very reputed and famous mental care. If necessary we have to admit our Evalla in BAMC.” While saying that his face filled with a sort of uneasiness and he looked into the face of Evalla. Evalla nodded her head with a smile on her face as it was agreeable to her.

“Okay dad. If necessary we do it like that. But.....” she paused a second and said again. “....I want to talk to that psychiatrist.”

“Sure you can. May I give her phone number to you?”

“No dad. I want to talk with her in person.”

“Alright. But it may not be proper to ask her to come here.”

“I go to that BAMC and see her there. I want to see how is that BAMC also.” Prameela got off from the chair she sat.

“But dear that Dr.Rose is a very busy psychiatrist and you may not meet her without an appointment.”

“Then give her phone number to me. I do first take her appointment through phone and then meet her.”

She noted down the phone number in her cell phone while her father was saying it, saved it and then came out of that room.

“I want to meet you Rose. At what time you come to BAMC?” when Rose was preparing herself to go to BAMC, she got the phone call from her close friend Nalini.

Nalini and Rose studied their intermediate together and from graduation Nalini has chosen teaching career with English when Rose chose psychiatry and became a psychiatrist. But they still have been very close and share everything with each other. Both of them did post-graduation in their respective fields.

“You need not come to that BAMC. You can straight come to my home for dinner and we can talk a lot in my home” Rose said.

“It is just because of a worst psychological problem I want to meet you. I do want to meet you as a psychiatrist Rose rather than my friend.” Suddenly Rose found very distressing note in the voice of her friend. With what psychological problem she has been suffering from Rose could not understand! As far as she knew, Nalini has a very strong psyche and will power also.

“I can be the psychiatrist Rose in the home also and discuss about that problem.  I wish you do come to dinner to our home and discuss about that problem.” Rose suggested.

“But Rose I don’t think that I can wait that longer. This is very much serious ....and we have to have a discussion as fast as possible.”

Nalini’s talking like that was shocking to Rose. “Every minute of this day in BAMC is filled with pre-appointments.  It is not so that I cannot manage time for you in between but we cannot have peaceful and lengthy discussion. If you can manage it I suggest you to come to my home for dinner and discuss that problem with me. Otherwise you can come to BAMC also at whatever time you want and I can manage.”

“Alright Rose. I do come to your home in the night.”

“I would be indeed nice! You can talk with Williams also and see our little Emily too.” With happiness in her voice Rose said.

“But Rose this must be absolutely private and except you and me no one else should know about it.” Suddenly there was anxiousness in the voice of Nalini.

“It shall be so.” Once again Rose shocked sensing the anxiousness in the voice of her friend. “All my patients’ details are absolutely private and confidential to me and I never discuss about them with anyone else. You can be hundred percent be assured of it.”

“Thank you Rose. I do meet you in your home in the night.” Then without saying another word Nalini cut off the call.

Even after reaching BAMC also Rose was very much puzzling and perplexing thinking why Nalini was that much anxious and with what hell of a psychological problem she has been suffering. While she was seeing her patients one after one she received an intercom call from Charles.

“Viswanadh’s daughter Prameela came here to see you.”
