સ્થળ: રણઝણ ગામ,ગુજરાતરણઝણ ગામ ગુજરાતના પછાત વિસ્તારમાં આવેલું એક નાનું પણ ઘેરું રહસ્યમય ગામ હતું. ગામની બહાર એક જૂનો વટવૃક્ષ હતો અને તેના બાજુમાં તૂટી પડેલી ભુતિયા હવેલી. લોકો કહે કે એ હવેલીમાં કોઈ જીવતી ડાકણ રહે છે – “કુસુમ ડાકણ”.કુસુમ ગામમાં વર્ષો પહેલાં એક ધાય તરીકે કામ કરતી. લોકો એને ઈજ્જતથી જુએ, પણ એક દિવસ ગામમાં ભયાનક દુર્ઘટનાઓ શરુ થઈ — બાળકોએ જન્મતાં જ શ્વાસ લેવાનું બંધ કરી દીધું, પશુઓ વિહોણા થઈ ગયા અને ખેતરો સૂકા પડી ગયા. ગામલોકોએ તમામ દોષ કુસુમ પર મઢી દીધો. એક પંડિતના કહ્યા મુજબ, તે ડાકણ હતી જે બાળકોની આત્માઓ ખાય છે.ગામલોકોએ એને બાંધીને
