That's why we have Beej Mantras (Seed Mantras) don't have one meaning, if they have meaning, they have infinite meanings. It is in the form of Seed. You cannot catch infinite meanings. So the mind catches the finite meaning and starts working.
That's why Rama's name is infinite. Unless the mantra doesn't connect with the infinite, it cannot be called a mantra. The meaning of the mantra is that which helps you transcend the mind.
