The Sand By The Ocean #kavyotsav -2 I learned to live my life holding onto my memories The good, the bad and the beautiful somethings I constantly go back to our times Where we would sing our song by the lines Back to when we were young and free Holding hands by the sunset, you see I look back to when we were little, When the world was green, when things were simple When we had no goals to chase, just dreams Living in, breathing in, sweet dreams I went back to our place yesterday Now covered with dust from where we once lay It was more than enough for us back then As I lay here, I go to our “back when..” They say stars are beings of the past, Their light travelling to us through the years So I look towards them hoping we could last, But all it does is fill my eyes with tears What happened to us, sometimes I wonder We loved each other, but to love we never surrendered Now we wake up in someone else’s bed Hoping, there was a way for us to mend We wrote our names into the perfect vision Oh darling, but we wrote it on the sand by the ocean
STARS KEEP ME COMPANY #kavyotsav -2 It was one of those days again Where she would think if she was even sane Up in the rooftop, dusty and rough Was far better she thought, it’s enough It came and went...the voices Of the people who would never have been her choices Their crumbling marriage, their fading daughter It’s like people nowadays dont even matter.... So she gazed at the stars....listening to the traffic and the cars Looking past the dark abyss For more and more stars like these... Those stars which would shine brighter, if you just looked a bit more closer Those stars which could sing, if you just took it under your wing Some days were bad.....others were worse Like a storm with the biggest lightning surge She wondered about her friends, how they were happy How is one even able to BE this happy?? Maybe it’s just her, who’s living on this thin line... Of course it’s her, but not a day has passed where she would look for a sign... A sign from somewhere, a sign from somebody Well at least tonight, she had the stars to keep her company.....
The Girl And The Yew Tree There was once a girl who fell in love with a yew tree It’s quiet sad they say, But how depressing could it actually be? She grew up with the yew tree, stumbled upon it when she was a baby And suddenly felt a connection, and with it immense affection It took her places far and high It helped her climb towards the top, up into the glorious sky Her soft hands felt, the tall hard bark and she knew what was beneath She pressed herself against the tree and heard it slowly breathe She spent many summers with her companion Who stood tall and strong as her guardian And gave her shelter no matter, how dark or cold may be the weather She loved the tree and the tree loved her, Their separation was impossible “I would live for thee...would you live for me??” And she heard every leaf rustle But no one forsaw what was to happen, It was natures law...to create...to destroy, Which made Mother Earth herself sadden That night a storm rumbled, With such power which made the whole world humble It tore apart the yew tree and with it the heart of the girl The tree fell down with a wail, crashed to the ground The girl wept and wept till first light, Then all was quiet, there was no sound The next day when the storm cleared, The people went to the yew tree and peered And saw a dead girl hugging a dead tree, “I would die for thee....would you die for me??” And you ask how depressing it could actually be?? There was once a girl who fell in love with a yew tree...
