Is This The Life ? Part-2

-based on real stories.

Struggling life of mine never let me have a sound sleep of the afternoons like most of the other women are enjoying.

So I did different different kinds of the jobs to earn our livelihood. One of my interesting job was as a PRO in one school, I was working as a Public Relation Officer where my main duty was to convince the parents for the admissions and give them the details of our school. There I use to meet different kind of people and dealing with lots of matters of the school.

That day I was sitting and was busy with my papers , there I saw a tall , little bit healthy man with the dusky skin entered my office. He was with his two kids. One was a girl – she was very simple and had a sweet look and the other was a boy – he was also with dusky skin like his father but he seems to be smart. They had come for the admission inquiry. I asked them for little bit of time as I had to manage all the papers. I asked them to sit for a while.

And I kept myself busy doing my work. In the midst of my work I was taking a chance and observing that man .I guessed him to be burdened with lots of worries, he was not happy but he seems to be hopeful about his children’s education. His attire given a signal that he was not so rich and whether would be able to afford his children education in such a grand school. His children were happy and observing the whole school with curiosity.

They were reading the proverbs written over the walls. The boy was pointing to Swami Vivekanand’s proverb and showing it to her sister- Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached and both were making faces , as if they were

Understanding everything. I guessed that boy must have understood that proverb as he was sharp. However I soon managed my table and cleaned every thing and made myself available to them.

I then greeted them with a smile and asked few questions regarding admission and told them the entire procedure regarding the admission.

He wanted admission for his boy in grade 7th and for girls he wanted in grade 6th . After I informed them everything , made them visit the entire school. The man was impressed with my humble behaviour , grand building of our school and was soon convinced for the admission.

And we soon became friendly. His children were talking to me very nicely. They were well- mannered children.

I was just asking the general questions like how many percentage you gained last year? Which is their favourite subject and whom do you love more mom or dad?

Where you will go during holidays ? As I was asking questions, some were answered but questions related to mom were answered with a dull and blank face….

I became eager to know about their mother those few seconds of their dumb and blank faces made me more curious and seconds went like hours to me. I wanted answer – and wanted to know about their mother. As I am a writer I guessed it could me my next story.

And there I was right, the man started with a deadly voice - the one with whom we were enjoying our life and were enjoying the outings has left us, she the main pillar of our house and hearts is no more , she is dead – he said as if thousands of arrows were passing through his heart during that moment. Men are not expected to cry . Isn’t?

It was only he didn’t cry that moment but it was like his heart was breaking into millions of pieces while uttering those words.

I humbly asked what happened to her? As I felt that he should overwhelm that pain before somebody like me , so would be better I think for him.

He continued and was feeling very difficult to narrate -

She was suffering from cancer and had died 2 years back- he said. The two kids were soon with tears and started crying. I was helpless, I could only manage water for them.

What a worst condition, when you cannot do anything in such situations.

I could feel the pain of that man, as he was narrating the story of his life. He said he was only living for his two children otherwise he is dead from within – the day his wife had left him. More miserable was when I heard it was there love marriage and they were not acceptable to their parents after their marriage . Both didn’t care and got married in a temple. Both left their homes for the sake of their love and faced a challenging life without the help

Of their near and dear ones.

So much love and so much suffering , I could not sleep that night. How painful it is when someone you madly love leave you alone and you are so helpless that you can not do anything.

No one has control over the death. Love your near and dear ones and do not hurt them because when they apart like this , never come back.

That day was the day I could never forget –Today too when I recall that day I feel the same pain the man was feeling at that time….it is very hard for me to forget such personalities – simple , poor but dedicated to his love even after her death. She must be very lucky woman.

But the Luck was not with them .

Why sometimes The God is so Cruel?

Are we all not puppets in the hands of our destiny? We can love, hate , earn lot of fame , play lot of games of emotions with the people surrounding us. But God has given a limit to us. We become helpless when it comes to birth and death.

It is handled by Him.
