Chapter 3 - The First Adventure Task
The tasks of the adventure trip started .
All the students gathered at the open area. It was a peaceful environment, the birds were chirping and a cold but fresh climate.
Guide 1 : "All the teams, listen carefully. From today your real adventure begins."
All the students became attentive.
Guide 1: " Each team will be given a clue for the first then they have to search the other without any clue in the given area . Using that, you have to find flags of different colours. The team that finds all the flags first then climb the mountain, place all the flags after that teams will find the box kept over there get 7 cards from the box than have to come back here at this place.
The team which will come first will wins today's tasks.
All of you are ready.
Everyone ( excited) : " yesss"
All 14 teams were given their clues for first flag.
Leaders were also selected for each team .
Rohan was chosen as the team leader for their team.
Soon, all the teams got ready and started their task.
Rohan with his team
Rohan (serious) :" Okay, so let's start. But if we all go together, it might take more time to find thae flags."
He looked at everyone, thinking about the best plan.
Agni: " So let's scatter and then find the flags."
Veer: " Yes , this is a good idea."
Agni , Veer and Yug decided to go together.
Vani and Tina asked to go together.
Ansh:" Okay, then I and Rohan will go together."
Rohan: " Let's start now . If anyone faces any problem , make a call.And after one hour, we will all meet here again."
Everyone started searching for the flags.
Veer( happily ) : " Hey, look! Here is one flag! "
Yug ( excited) :" Yes! We got it !"
Agni:" Now we should fastly for other , let's go hurry."
After an hour, everyone met again at the same place.
Rohan: " How many flags did you all find?"
Veer:" We got 3 flags".
Tina: " We found 2".
Rohan ( leading ) : " We also found 3 flags. But 2 flags are still remaining.We have to find them quickly because we also need time to climb the mountain. Let's go and find them together."
Then they all started for the remaining flags together.
Veer( pointing):" hey ,look! There's one!."
Agni (hurry) : " Let's go, before others reach there!"
Ansh:" Run fast, guys!"
Tina (worried):" Look! Others are going for the same flag!"
Vani reached there first and grabbed the flag
Vani ( cheerfully):" Yes ! We got it!"
Ansh ( excited): " Now, we just need one more."
Veer suddenly ran towards something.
Yug ( confused): " Why did he run like that ?"
Agni (happily) :" I think he found something. Come on guys, we should move too!"
They all ran towards Veer.
Veer ( full of joy):" Hey, Look! I got the flag! Yes , Yes! We got the flags! Now come on , we should climb the mountain without wasting any time."
Rohan ( suddenly noticing, worried): " But wait... your knee is bleeding. It's injured."
Veer ( trying to stay strong, hiding the pain): " It's fine, I'm okay . Let's move."
Ansh (firm not joking this time):" No, Veer. First, we take care of ourselves. Winning is not more important."
Agni (quickly checking his bag): " Wait , I have a first-aid kit. The guide gave it to is for safety."
Rohan carefully bandaged Veer's knee .
Rohan :" Are you okay now?"
Veer(smiling): " Yes , I'm telling you I'm fine."
Tina ( pointing ahead, slightly panicked) :" Look there! Anuj's team is already climbing the mountain!"
Veer(determined , eyes focused):" Let's go, guys! I'm okay.We have to win !"
Rohan looked at Veer for a second - still concerned about his injury-
But then nodded , trusting his strength.
Rohan ( Clam but strong):" Okay then ... come on, guys . We will win this task- and we can .. if we stay together."
Everyone (with rising confidence):" Yes , we can!"
They all moved towards the mountain, their pace faster now, filled with urgent and determination.
Rohan(focused):" Agni, let's tie the rope."
Agni (quick and steady):" Done, Rohan. Let's start climbing."
Veer (energetic despite injury) :"" Yes, let's go! I'll go first."
Rohan( immediately stopping him, serious tone):" No, wait ,Veer . You shouldn't you're already injured. I'll go first, then Yug , then Tina , then Vani, then Ansh and then You and at last Agni. Got it?"
Everyone:" okay"
Rohan took a deep breath, looked up at the mountain, and started climbing.
His grip was firm, movements careful but confident.
Within moments he reached the top .
He turned back , looking down at his team.
Rohan( shouting with encouragement):"Come on ! One by one !"
Yug started climbing next, followed by Tina, then Vani, then Ansh.
Each step was filled with efforts ... hands slipping slightly,feet searching for balance...
But no one gave up .
Agni(motivating):" Now it's your turn Veer ,You can do it ".
A slight smile appeared on his face.
Veer ( to himself, determined):" No matter what... I won't fall behind."
And then - he started climbing.
Veer was climbing slowly, carefully placing each step.
Agni was right behind him.
But suddenly-
Amit , who was climbing nearby from Anuj's team , tried to hit Veer with his leg, attempting to disturb his balance.
Veer (angry, struggling to maintain balance):" Hey! Amit, stop it ! I said stop! Why are you doing this ? If you want to win ,then play fair!"
From below Agni shouted
Agni ( angry) :" Amit! Just leave Veer! He is already injured!"
Amit (laughing):" Everything is fair in game if you want to win!Ha ha !"
At the top-
Rohan ( angrily,to Anuj):" Just ask your team mate to play fair. It's not right what he is doing!"
Anuj(shouting from the top):" Amit! Focus on your goal -leave him!"
Rohan(firmly, to Veer): " Just leave him ,Veer . Focus on climbing!"
Veer continued climbing.
But Suddenly-
Amit's rope got loose.
His hand slipped.
Without thinking even for a second-
Veer quickly slid down a little and caught Amit hand.
From the top, Anuj and his team pulled the rope with full strength.
They both reached the top .
Anuj (serious):" Amit... that was not right. We should play fair."
After that, Agni also safely reached the top.
Ansh(angry):" Wait guys, I will beat Amit! How could he do this?!"
Rohan( calmly):" No, We will see it later. Right now,we should focus on the task."
Veer ( supporting Rohan):" Yes, Ansh . We will see it later.
Tina ( bringing focus back):"Now let's place the flags."
Vani( cheerfully):" Everyone have a look - I am taking a selfie!"
Everyone smiling.
Despite everything that happened,they captured the moment together.
Yug (excited):" Guys, let's open this box and collect our cards!"
Vani: " Now, We should move down quickly".
Tina (confused, looking around):" Hey! See guys, that's Anuj's team, right? Why are they still here ? They started first."
Rohan:" Maybe something happened. Let's check."
Veer :"Yes"
Agni(calling out):"Anuj, is there any problem?"
Anuj:" Our teammate got injured. Do you have water?"
Rohan(immediately helping):" Yes, take it. Do you want first aid?"
Anuj:" No, we have one.Thank you for this."
Veer (clamly):" For what? It's just humanity."
"Now we should leave,guys. Let's go."
They all climbed down the mountain and handed their cards to the guide.
Guide 1:" Very well done! You have worked well as a team.You are the first team to reach here."
After sometime, all the teams completed their task and gathered.
The guide announced-
" Team 5 ,led by Rohan,has won this task!"
He gave them medals.
Everyone clapped.
Guide 2:" But don't be upset. You all have played well and helped your teammates. There are many tasks still left. For today, we are winding up here .
Have you food, take rest, enjoy with your friends, make your camps - we will meet tomorrow."
Everyone got busy with their work.
Rohan and group stood together, talking.
Rohan ( appreciating everyone):"Yug ,Ansh and Agni - you were very fast at climbing. Amazing job.
Vani and Tina you also did a great job.
And Veer ... even after the injury, you didn't lose hope and motivated us.
We'll done , everyone. We have a great team."
Agni(smiling):" And you were also great Rohan. The way you led the team and handled everything ,it was amazing."
Just then-
Amit walked towards them .
Amit(guilty):" I'm sorry, Veer... for that."
Veer (calm, mature):" it's okay. You were playing for your team.
But don't do something like that next time."
They both shook hands and smiled.
Rohan was sitting near a tree, lost in deep thoughts.
The noise of others laughing and enjoying felt distant to him... as if he was in a different world.
Veer walked towards him, noticed his silence.
He came from behind, gently placed his hands on Rohan's shoulder , and sat beside him.
Veer ( softly, with a hint of concern):"Rohan, why are you sitting alone? What happened? We just won - aren't you happy?"
Rohan(looking down, voice calm but heavy):" Veer , it's not like that.. I am happy,but..."
Veer (concern):" What 'but'? Complete your sentence. Tell me - maybe I can help."
Rohan (after a pause):" The day we were coming here ... the weather felt... scary."
Veer ( trying to keep things normal):"Yes , it was . So what? It's normal- it happens sometimes. Agni was also talking weird that day."
Rohan ( shaking his head slightly):" Yes. it's normal... but I had seen something like that in my dream the night before. And many things earlier also "
For a moment, Veer stayed silent.
Veer ( clamly, trying to reassure him):" Sometimes it happens because of imagination and vision. Just relax."
But Veer's inner thoughts says some different story(Veer's inner thoughts)
" Even I felt something strange... a warmth in my hands ... a different kind of energy...
And I got injured during the task but completed it, like some thing was helping me ... is there any connection?
No how can it be possible, it's real life or..
Should I tell him?
No he is already worried. I should not increase his tension."
I should lighten his mood ".
Veer suddenly stood up and looked towards the group.
Veer (smiling, changing the topic):"Hey, look ! Yug and Ansh are dancing over there. Let's go and enjoy."
Rohan looked at them.... and a small smile appeared on his face.
Rohan:" Yeah ... Let's go."
They all gathered together.
Laughter , music,and chatters filled the air .
Agni(noticing them):" What happened? Everything okay?"
Veer(casual):" Yes, Yes."
Agni(raising an eyebrow):" Are you sure?"
Rohan(smiling now):"Yes".
Veer(teasing):" Yug, are you dancing or showing a circus to everyone?"
Yug(offended but playful):" Veer, my dance is not that funny!"
Veer(grinning):" Yes ... it's not funny , it's even more funny!"
Everyone burst out laughing.
Yug ( running toward Veer ):" Hey ! Veer ,stop ! I won't leave you!
And don't run like that your leg is injured!"
Veer(laughing while running):"First catch me!"
Ansh(jumping in excitedly): " Guys , I'm coming too!"
Tina (smiling): " let's click some photos, Vani!"
Vani:"Yes , let's go!"
Yug finally caught Veer and started a playful fight.
Pushing and laughing.
Soon both got tired and sat down, breathing heavily.
They looked at eachother...
And suddenly burst into laughter.
Ansh ( confused, smiling):" What's so funny?"
Yug(trying to control his laughter):" No ... Nothing.."
But both Yug and Veer started laughing again .
Seeing them, Ansh could not stop himself either and joined in .
For a moment,
All worries ,fears ,and questions disappeared.
They were just friends... enjoying the moment.
Here Vani and Tina stood a little away from the group, smiling as they went through the photos on the phone.
The soft evening light made every thing look even more beautiful.
Vani( excited, showing the screen):" Tina, see ... these photos are really nice."
Tina(smiling):" Yes,they really are."
Vani(scrolling):" Look at this one, yours and mine!"
Tina(eyes lighting up):" Yes , it's really beautiful."
Tina (softly, a little emotional):" Vani, it's only been three days since we met... but look how strong our bond has become."
Vani(warm smile):" Yes, it's true. After we leave from here, don't forget to call me, Okay?"
Tina (assuring):" Yes, sure."
Vani(looking towards the group):" Our team is really amazing."
Tina (nodding):" True."
Suddenly, Tina's Phone started ringing.
She glanced at the screen.
Tina:" My mom, Let me take this call ."
Vani(smiling):"Yes , sure"
Tina stepped aside, while Vani continued looking at the photos- still smiling.
A little distance away, Rohan and Agni were standing together, talking calmly.
Rohan(appreciating): Agni , you were really good while climbing the mountain- very fast."
Agni(smiling):" Yes, I am fond of adventure. Maybe that's why."
Rohan(nodding, impressed):" Yes, really. When you were doing the task, you were very serious. It was nice to see that."
Agni(slightly smiling):" Oh... do you really think that I was good?"
Rohan( confidently, impressed) :" Yes, And don't you think Veer is a bit different?"
Agni(thinking, glancing towards Veer):" Yes... even though he was injured, he still completed the task. It felt like he had some different kind of energy."
At a distance, Yug, Veer and Ansh were walking towards them- laughing loudly, pushing each other playfully.
Agni(noticing):" Look, they are coming."
Rohan ( slightly smile ):" They are still laughing. What's so funny?"
Agni:" let's go."
They walked towards the others.
Rohan (to them, curious):" What's so funny?Tell us, we'll also have fun."
Yug( still smiling):" Nothing just a silly joke."
Ansh( Suddenly getting an idea, eyes sparkling):" Hey , look! Vani and Tina are coming. Let's do a prank on them."
Veer, Yug , Agni ( instantly agreeing):" Why not.!"
They quickly adjust their expression- faces turned serious, pretending something was wrong.
Tina and Vani walked closer, noticing their unusual silence.
Vani ( confused):" What happened? Why are you all looking so worried?"
Yug ( avoiding eye contact):" What? Nothing"
Tina ( tense , looking from one face to another):" Did you guys have a fight?"
Ansh(trying not to laugh):"No"
Vani( impatient):" Then what? Tell us quickly!"
Agni (acting serious):" It's a very serious situation.."
Tina (worried):" Hmm.. serious? What?"
Rohan tried to stay serious... But couldn't hold it a smile escaped.
Rohan :" Nothing. They are just making fun of you."
For a second silence
Then
Veer burst out laughing.
Veer (laughing):" Yes, the serious situation is that- we are pranking you."
Ansh , Agni and Yug also started laughing
Yug:" Why did you say it so quickly, yaar?"
Ansh(laughing):" Yes, just look at their faces , how worried they look!
Tina(in a low voice):" It's not so funny."
Vani: " Yes, she is right."
Veer( raising his hand slightly):" But we were just joking.... Relax, just chill."
Tina :" No.You should not be like this."
Ansh(worried):" What,So serious?"
Vani" It's not funny."
Rohan (calmly):" hey, just relax. They were just joking."
Tina looking at Vani started laughing
Tina:" Then we were also joking!"
Vani(laughing):" See your faces now , only you all can joke."
Veer(surprised):" What?!"
Then they all started laughing.
This made them forget all the worries .
They were just enjoying the moment.
Till now they did not even realise that the next task is going to bring a storm in their life. Some secret is going to be revealed. Something really unbelievable is waiting for them. Their life are going to change totally.
