“My God! My God! How should we take this? How this problem would be solved?” rubbing his temples Pallav said.
“What a shameless girl! How she stood naked all before us! You slapped your sister as she has sex before marriage. What you do say to this? These two as well did the same mistake.” Looking into her daughter Jayanthi’s face Mnagaveni asked.
“Mom… Please… It is not the time to talk like that.” Sukanya said in a pleading way and then she looked at Madan.
Madan was completely aghast. He was not saying anything at all. He stood there like a pole without any movement.
Susmitha was now sleeping on the bed. Sukanya gave her a sedative and put her to sleep.
“We are going to discuss about this early in the morning. Now we cannot do anything. Better we go and sleep now.” Pallav said.
Jayanthi nodded her head. “But we must find a permanent solution to this.” she said.
Pallav nodded his head. But at present he was having no idea at all.
“Better you too come with us.” Looking at Sukanya, Mangaveni said.
“No. I am going to sleep with Susmitha.” Sukanya said with a firm voice.
“It is dangerous. She is possessed by a devil. She may do harm to you. Come with us into our room.” Mangaveni once again said.
“Nothing happens to me. This night I am going to sleep in this room itself. You people may better go.”
Mangaveni had so much of experience once Sukanya’s voice reached that firmness there would be no change in what she said. She helplessly went out of that room with her first daughter. Pallav also went out with them. There remained Vineet, Madan besides Susmitha and Sukanya.
Then Sukanya slowly went near to Madan and took his both hands into hers. “I am sorry Madan. I am so sorry. I thought I could be helpful to you. I thought I could make this girl normal. But I am unfit as a psychologist. I am unfit as a friend.”
She suddenly put her head on the chest of Madan and started weeping. “I am sorry. I just cannot see you suffering like this. What a good friend you are to me? How many times you have helped me? But what I did when you are in need? I have just made your problem even more worse.”
“Sukanya please. There is no mistake in you regarding this. Control yourself.” Coming into this world Madan said.
“Yes Sukanya. There is no mistake in you at all in this. You did your level best. Control yourself.” Vineet said. He never had thought of Sukanya sometimes would become emotional like this.
She left Madan and came away from him. “I am sorry.” She said. “But how we are going to solve this problem? I just cannot see a way out to it at all.”
“There is only one way left now.” With a small but firm voice Madan said. “I think it may work.”
“What it is?” with a frown Sukanya asked him.
“Let it become morning first. I shall tell you then.”

Early in the morning when Madan explained to Sukanya what he was going to do Sukanya did not say a ‘no’ to that. Instead she said “It may work Madan.” And she paused for a moment and then said “It is the only way left for us now.”
“Do you come with me then?” Madan asked her.
“I have no objection. Come, we shall go now.” Sukanya said.
Both of them came out of the house. In five minutes or so they reached Mamatha’s house. Madan felt as if he was entering into a grave while he was entering into that house. It was indeed after a very long time that he was entering into this house. His heart filled with a sort of guilty feeling.
When he entered into the house he stopped as if his feet were suddenly plastered to the floor there. There was a big photo of Mamatha and a garland was decorated around the neck of her in it. A red mark with kumkum was made between her eyebrows. There was a small smile on her lips. This photo was there before also but never with the garland and the kumkum.
“Why do you suddenly want to see my dead daughter Madan?”
Madan turned back hearing mother of Mamatha, Rajani’s voice behind.
“Many a time she asked you to marry her. Many a time she begged you to honour her love. But you never have cared. But why did you have come like this after she left her body?” the accusation in her voice made his heart cringed.
“I did a mistake then. Really I did a mistake. I should not have done that mistake at all.” with a shivering tone Madan said.
“What you are trying to say now?” Rajani asked him again.
“Yes I was a fool. I could not understand her love. I let her die mercilessly in the water under the bridge.”
There was a feeling of shock on the face of Sukanya. She did not think of that Madan let that truth out so.
“Yes. Our daughter said to us. She said it was just an accident. There was no mistake of you in it.” Rajani said.
Madan paused for a moment and then said. “But your daughter entered into my girl friend that I am going to marry soon. She is torturing my girl friend a lot. Please ask your daughter to leave the body of my girl friend and go away.”
By that time Mukund, Mamatha’s father as well came there. He stood there silently watching what was happening.
“I did mistakes. Right or wrong because of me your daughter suffered. Whether willfully or not I have caused her death. But it is not good that an innocent girl punished for my mistakes. If she wants ask her to torture me. But not my girl friend.” Madan emotionally said.
Then he bursted into weeping. Sukanya became aghast seeing him weeping like that. In his whole life, even in his childhood also, Sukanya never had seen him wept like that. In however much distress he might be in, Sukanya did not think that he would burst into weeping like that. Her heart became quite heavier and she too had got an instant weeping feeling.
Mukund fastly came to him and put his right hand on his right shoulder. “Don’t weep. We shall talk to our daughter and see that she leave your girl friend’s body. Your family is a so good a family and your brother helped us a lot. How can we forget about that?”
“Whatever my husband said is right. Your family helped our family many a time.” Rajani said. “Except not accepting our daughter’s love, you did not do even a single mistake. It is our girl’s mistake pestered you to love her and marry her without bothering for your preferences. We shall talk with our girl. Sure make her to leave your girl friend’s body.”
“Thank you, thank you very much!” looking into her face with a grateful expression Madan said.
“But better you should do one thing.” Rajani said again.
“Tell me? What should I do?” looking hopefully into her eyes Madan asked her.
“Marry that girl as soon as possible. That surely forever solves the problem.” Rajani said to him.
“But what is the guarantee that Mamatha leaves my girl friend’s body after I marry my girlfriend? Why should she do that?” there was surprise in Madan.
“First thing we talk with her and persuade her to leave your girl friend’s body. She is very madly in love with you but I think she honour our words. Even if it is not so, she has to leave your girl friend’s body if your marriage is over with her. The yellow thread you are going to tie around the neck of your girl friend has the power like that in it. It shall see that no devil hang on your girlfriend’s body. Please do what I am asking you to do.” With a firm voice Rajani said.
Madan still tried to say something more.
“Just marry that girl without any delay as my wife suggested.” Mukund said. “Hundred percent the problem would be solved then. If the problem is not solved then too, we shall think what to do then itself.” He paused for a moment and said again “After our talking with her and after the marriage also, I don’t think my daughter hang on to your girl friend’s body.”
Madan nodded his head and said “Thank you very much. I shall talk about my marriage with my brother now.”
“That is the best thing. The problem would be solved. Just see that it will be performed as soon as possible.” Rajani said.
Then Madan came out of that house with Sukanya with lot of hope in himself.

“We are also thinking the same. There is no necessity to procrastinate now. We shall perform your marriage with Susmitha as fast as possible.” After hearing what Madan had said Pallav said.
They were all seated in the Susmitha’s room. Susmitha, Saukanya and Jayanthi settled on the bed and Pallav, Madan and Vineet settled in the chairs there.
“Better we perform Sukanya and Vineet’s marriage as well with this marriage.” Jayanthi suggested.
“Why so?” Pallav questioned her. “It shall be difficult to us to perform two marriages at one time. We shall think about their marriage later.”
“No. It is important. Their marriage as well should be performed now itself.” She meaningfully looked into Pallav’s eyes. He understood some extent. He knew, without a reason his wife would not say like that at all.
“All right then.” Pallav nodded his head.
Vineet and Sukanya, Madan and Susmitha looked into each other’s eyes. There was happiness in their faces.
“Why you people are looking happily at each other like that? All this happiness is for the intended marriages it seems.” Pallav said.
“What else this is except that? This news must be conveyed to my mother immediately.” Jayanthi said. “I shall go down and relay this news to her. She would feel quite happy.” Saying so she went down.
“I too have to look after some important works. I shall consult the priest and get fixed auspicious times for your marriages.” Pallav got off from the chair “Excuse my going out now.” Soon he disappeared from the room.
“We both shall celebrate this occasion going outside.” Putting his hand on Vineet’s shoulder Madan said. “Come.”
“What about us both? Don’t we deserve any celebration?” Sukanya asked them.
“We have no objection if you both too come with us.” Looking pleasantly at them both Madan said. Even he could not believe completely what Rajani had said, it filled Madan’s heart with unknown courage and happiness. Inwardly he was feeling sure that their marriage would keep Mamatha away from Susmitha.
“Let them both go. No problem. We both are going to celebrate this occasion in a different way here.” Susmitha said keeping her hand on the shoulder of Sukanya stopping her from going.
“Then we both too shall stay with you. We four celebrate here itself.” Madan said.
“No. It is only ladies celebration. There is no permission to gents in this. You both may please go out.” Susmitha firmly said.
Then Madan helplessly nodded his head and then Vineet and Madan went away from there.
Then Susmitha put her hand in her handbag and took out a piece of paper from it. Sukanya watched her eagerly while she was carefully unwrapping it.
