From One Bench to Many Roads

Ravi was a quiet boy who liked books. Arun was loud and always ready for fun. One day, at school, Arun played a prank and almost spilled water on Ravi. Instead of getting angry, Ravi laughed. From that day, they became friends. In class, Ravi helped Arun with answers. After school, Arun pulled Ravi into games. They shared jokes, snacks, and late-night talks. One day, a teacher thought they were cousins. They laughed, but it made them feel close like family. They stood up for each other and shared everything. But as the year ended, they found out both families might move away. What would happen next to their friendship?

After their families moved, Ravi and Arun joined different colleges for their intermediate studies. Ravi took MPC, while Arun took CEC. They lived in different towns. At first, they often called each other, sharing new stories. But slowly, new friends came into their lives. Ravi spent time with his study group, and Arun got close to his classmates. The calls became fewer. One day, Arun visited their old town, but Ravi was busy with exams. Arun wondered if their bond was fading. Yet, on Ravi’s birthday, Arun sent a surprise letter. Ravi smiled, realizing distance couldn’t erase what they shared. But the question remained: would they meet again?

When college began, Ravi joined B.Tech, and Arun took a degree. They were busy, and new people came into their lives. Ravi met a girl at college, and Arun’s long-time love became serious. Slowly, they spoke less. One day, Arun called Ravi, sharing good news about his relationship. Ravi felt a mix of happiness and a bit of sadness. He realized they were growing apart. But then, on a random weekend, Ravi traveled to meet Arun face-to-face. They laughed like old times. Though their lives were different now, they promised that no matter what, they’d always be there. And so, their friendship found new strength—distance would come, but it could never truly break them.

Friendship does not always stay the same, but true friendship never ends. Ravi and Arun started as two different boys in the same school. One was quiet, one was loud. Life slowly pushed them in different directions, but it never erased their bond.

They studied in different colleges, met new people, and built new lives. Calls became rare, meetings became short, and silence grew between them. Still, whenever they met, the past came alive again. Old jokes returned. Smiles felt real. Time disappeared.

Ravi learned that not all friendships need daily talks. Arun learned that distance does not mean loss. Some friendships stay deep even when they stay quiet.

They were not together in every stage of life, but they were part of each other’s story. When life became heavy, memories of school days gave them strength.

Some bonds are not broken by distance, time, or change.
They simply wait.

And Ravi and Arun’s friendship was one such bond—
silent, strong, and forever connected.

" We didn’t walk the same road forever,
but we started from the same place.
Time changed our paths,
life changed our priorities.
Calls became less,
meetings became rare.
Still, when we meet,
nothing feels new or strange.
Some friendships don’t need daily words.
They live in memories and silence.
Distance tests them, not breaks them.
And true friendship always stays".
