Chapter 10: Black World
The world had ended.
But the Black Kiss had not.
Akari stood in the middle of the city—at the same place where crowds once gathered, where voices lived, where life existed. Now there was only air. Cold. Heavy. And familiar.
The buildings stood straight, but their shadows were twisted—as if the difference between truth and lies had been erased. The sky was not fully black, not white either. Something in between—sickly.
Akari began to walk.
Wherever she went, shadows moved. As if the city was watching her. Or maybe—following her.
She remembered the first kiss.
The first look.
The first blood.
Everything was part of a chain. Logical. Inevitable.
“People misunderstand,” Akari said to herself.
“They think the curse spread through a kiss.”
She stopped and looked into a broken piece of glass. The reflection was not perfect, but it was enough.
“The truth is,” she continued,
“it always spread through love.”
The kiss was only the beginning.
The gaze was only the path.
Ego was only the fuel.
The real thing that kept the Black Kiss alive—
was desire.
Where someone will desire another.
Where someone will claim someone as their own.
Where someone will place themselves above others.
There, the Black Kiss will exist.
Akari closed her eyes—and the world began to change.
The city did not break and end.
It transformed.
Black symbols appeared on the walls—like heartbeats written out. There was no blood on the ground, but memories were everywhere. At every step, someone’s love had died.
Akari smiled.
This was not Mika’s psycho smile.
This was not Yui’s peace.
This was not Ren’s ego.
This was understanding.
There was no way to defeat the Black Kiss, because it was not an enemy. It was a reflection of humanity’s oldest weakness.
Love.
And love never ends.
Somewhere far away, in a new world, two eyes will meet.
Someone will think it is just a moment.
Just a feeling.
And the Black Kiss will breathe again.
Akari looked up at the sky one last time.
And softly said—
“As long as love exists in the world… the Black Kiss will live.”
The city turned completely black.
No screams.
No bodies.
Only a living curse.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
In the END
No one survives.
