Chasing butterflies …….

(A spicy hot romantic and suspense thriller)

By

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

More than ten years or so have passed after Sukanya came to this home. She had become busier in her studies later. She was with her mother in the town and studied in the college nearby. There was a long age gap between Jayanthi and Sukanya just like between Pallav and Madan. The difference was due to three male offspring were born and dead between Jayanthi and Sukanya but there was no such occurrence between Pallav and Madan.

One thing Jayanthi detested most in Sukanya while she was here was her behavior with Vineet. Unnecessarily many a time she hurt his feelings. On one occasion Jayanthi scolded her sister heavily for her rude behavior with Vineet and at that time Jayanthi’s mother Mangaveni as well was present. She did not like that her elder daughter scolding her younger daughter just for a servant like person in the home. Mangaveni said to Jayanthi that they would never come to that home again and took Sukanya with her. After that either of them did not visit that house even for once.

Sukanya phoned yesterday and informed her that she was coming to her home. Jayanthi surprised on hearing that. After her mother owed like that they would not come to this home and Jayanthi never asked either her mother or Sukanya to come here. But when Sukanya herself said that she would come to this home she could not say a ‘no’ but asked. “Have you taken the permission of our mother?”

“Sure I did. She is whole heartedly sending me there.” The cheerfulness in her voice was quite obvious to Jayanthi. “Better you confirm yourself from her. Talk with mother.”

Then Jayanthi heard her mother’s tone in the phone. “Yes I am sending her there with all agreement. But why you know, Madan himself phoned to her and asked her to come. So I am sending her there. But…”

Her mother tried to say something more but in the meanwhile it seemed Sukanya snatched the phone from her mother. “Have you heard it clearly? That is it.” Still there was the same cheerfulness in her voice.

“By when you will be here?” Jayanthi nonchalantly asked. Even it appeared that Sukanya changed it seemed that there was not much change in her mother.

“Before tomorrow evening I shall be there.” After that they talked some more and it was Jayanthi who cut it first.

“What you are thinking vadina (brother’s wife)? You are quite oblivious that the curry is over frying on the stove.” She was indeed quite oblivious of the surroundings that she did not notice Madan’s entering into the kitchen either.

“I am sorry.” She immediately turned off the stove before turning towards Madan. “Yes, I have been diverted a little bit.”

“But why? May I know?” filling the nearby empty chair with his personality Madan asked.

“Did you phone to Sukanya and asked her to come here?” she asked straightly. “When you have started doing things like these without intimating me?”

“I am sorry vadina (brother’s wife). She is one of our family members. I sensed her necessity here now. So I have phoned her and requested her to come.” There was a guilty feeling in his voice.

“What is her necessity in our home now?” Jayanthi surprisingly asked.

“She is now a psychologist. And in my opinion Susmitha is suffering from a psychological problem. We cannot take Susmitha to a psychologist saying so since she would never agree that she is suffering from a psychological problem. But if we let Sukanya move near with her she can find out the problem and treat it. At the same time she would be a good time pass as well to her.” Madan said.

“She has just completed her post graduation in psychology. I don’t think that she can be that much helpful.” Jayanthi said.

“Still she can be known the problem of Susmitha and treat it. At the same time she is a very active girl. She can be a good companion to Susmitha.” He reasoned with her.

Jayanthi came near to Madan and put herself in the nearby chair. She remained thoughtful for some time and then said “After thinking a little, what you have said to me appears right. Sukanya’s presence would be quite useful to us now. But you know about her nature. She is haughty and suffering with superiority complex. If she tries to insult Vineet anymore I am not going to remain calm.”

Madan laughed loudly and said “You know how much I like Vineet. He is like more than a brother to me. But Sukanya behaved like that ten years or so back and she was quite amateured then. By way of her talking recently what I have understood is, she changed a lot.”

“If it is so I too feel quite happier. After all she is my own sister.” Jayanthi said.

“Last time when you have come here, you said that you would never come here again. Why did you have come again?” Vineet asked Sukanya. They both were probably aged twelve and fourteen then.

“I want to come and I came. I do as I wish.” Throwing her head back Sukanya said.

“I have just mentioned what you have said. I have no objection whenever you come.” Before coming out of that home, he said.

He went straight into the fields.

“I have asked you to go to school with Madan. Why did you have come here?” looking at him Pallav asked.

“I am not interested in studying at all. I shall do the field works with you.” he said.

“You always can do these fields work if you want. But now you should only study.” Pallav said. “I am not going to agree if you come to the fields like this from tomorrow onwards without going to the school.”

            Vineet nodded his head.

“What work you can do now? Go to home and study your class books.  Don’t linger here.”

Vineet nodded his head and turned back. He knew that Pallav would not agree his staying there anymore. But instead of going home he straight went to the farm-house in the tope. Surprisingly it was opened for some reason and not locked.

He entered into it. He went straight into the bed room. He was cherishing the memories of his playing with Madan, Madhuri and Mamatha yesterday there. They were not available on this day.

He heard footsteps and turned back. There was Sukanya standing behind him.

“Why did you have come here?” he asked her.

“It is not your property to ask me like that.” Her arrogance was as usual.

“Alright.” He nodded his head and remained silent.

“What you are looking here?” she asked him again.

“Just on yesterday I, Madan, Mamatha and Madhuri played here.” He said.

“What type of plays?” she enquired.

“Just the usual plays. You know. You too did play with us before.”

“Of course I played with you. But I don’t like that Madan and I play with that Madhuri and you.” Looking haughtily into his face, Sukanya said.

“Why so?” Vineet knitted his brows together.

“That Madhuri and you are a sort of people. Low class. You don’t have culture at all. You both are not apt to play with us.”

Vineet started feeling hurt immediately and it was not new to him. It was usual to him to be insulted like that in the hands of Sukanya.

“If you talk any more like this, I don’t remain calm” Vineet angrily said.

“What you would do? You are just an orphan and servant in our house.” There was sadistic pleasure in Sukanya’s face.

“If I want I can beat you black and blue here.” Vineet was even more angry.

“Just try” with a sneer Sukanya said. “I can make you skinned alive by my sister and mother.”

Vineet very well knew that Jayanthi would not do anything to him and instead scold Sukanya if she came to know about this episode. But she would become upset if he did anything to Sukanya. He nodded his head, turned back and went out of that farm-house. Sukanya irritated in his reaction like that. She wanted to tease him some more time like that and get some more sadistic pleasure. But going away from there like that, he spoiled it.

“Where are you going now?” while Vineet was going into the fields, Sukanya asked him.

“Into the fields. Why you are asking?” remembering the yesterday’s experience, Vineet asked Sukanya.

“Best thing. Go and help my bava (sister’s husband) in his work. It is not better for you to eat and stay at home all the time.” Throwing her head back arrogantly in her usual way Sukanya said.

“You shut up. You need not tell me what shoud I do.” Vineet once again became angry.

“Why you get angry like this? My mother said that you are an orphan and living on our bava’s (sister’s husband) mercy.” There was once again that sadistic pleasure in her.

“Shut up. You and your mother are just the same.  Don’t have any manners.” He became even more angry.

“Why you become that much angry? Are not you an orphan? Are not you living on the mercy of our sister’s family?” Sukanya asked angrily.

By then Jayanthi came there. “What you both are arguing here?” she asked.

“Sukanya is calling me an orphan.” There was distress in his face and pain in his voice.

“Sukanya, did you say so to him?” Jayanthi asked her angrily.

“Yes. Mother said to me that he is an orphan. She further said to me that he is living on your people’s mercy.” Sukanya said.

            “Mommy. Come here.” Jayanthi yelled.

Then Mangaveni hesitatingly came there. “What happened dear? Why you are yelling like that?”

“Did you say to your daughter that Vineet is an orphan and he is living on our mercy?” Jayanthi’s anger became even more.

“Yes. Is there any wrong in my saying so? I always say only truths.” With a small voice Mangaveni said. She knew very well how much Jayanthi liked Vineet. But she liked teasing and hurting people.

“Mommy. I told you many a time before and still I am telling you. Vineet is not an orphan. He is like a son to me. Never dare to say so again.” And then she turned to Sukanya. “I am saying to you for the last time. If you call Vineet orphan again I shall beat you black and blue.” Then she fastly moved away from there.

But there was not much change even afterwards as well in Sukanya. Vineet could understand that there was her mother’s guidance in her behaving like that with him. Vineet stopped caring her words or behavior.

But there had come changes in her body too with the passage of time. Vineet could see the small swelling on her rock like chest under her gown. On one day he overheard Jayanthi talking with Pallav that Sukanya got her womanhood. He could not understand what it was then but the changes in her body were even more rampant afterwards. Her hip became little narrower and the buttocks became big. Her breasts became more prominent and there was a beautiful cleavage available then.

He was in the fields on that day. Once again Sukanya came to their home. She came behind him. He did not notice until she came quite closer to him. He turned back and startled on seeing her there.
