Chapter 14
🎭 Scene 1 – Edge of the Forest, Night Drowned in Fog
The night was drowned in fog.
The cold wind seeping through the trees pierced down to the bone. Every rustle, every shadow felt like the whisper of death.
Romi, her trembling hands gripping the heavy spade, stepped toward Joy. Her eyes brimmed with tears, but in them burned a fire—of pain, betrayal, and broken trust.
Joy slowly closed his eyes. A strange calm washed over his face.
Joy (softly, in a broken voice):
“If you think I don’t deserve to live… then end it, Romi.
I’m ready.
But remember this—everything I said… was the truth.”
Romi’s breath grew heavier. With shaking hands, she raised the spade into the air. Her heart pounded like a drum inside her chest.
Romi (through tears):
“How can I trust you?
Death is lurking everywhere…
and from you, I’ve known nothing but betrayal.”
Joy opened his tear-soaked lashes. In his eyes, between helplessness and sorrow, only one truth shone.
Joy (voice trembling, but true):
“I love you, Romi…
Believe it or not.
The very first moment I saw you… my heart became yours.”
Romi let out a broken laugh, trying to hide her pain.
Romi:
“Another lie? Love in just one day…? Is this some kind of joke?”
Joy (gathering courage, gently):
“I know it’s hard to believe.
But maybe this is the last moment of my life…
and that’s why I’m telling you my truth.
Now it’s in your hands…
Believe me… or end me forever.”
Suddenly, Romi’s grip faltered. The spade slipped from her hand and crashed to the ground.
The sound tore through the silence of the forest.
Tears streamed endlessly down her face.
Romi (breathing heavily):
“Let’s go… We need to get out of here.
Staying alive matters most right now.”
Joy’s eyes slowly opened. A faint, broken, but genuine smile touched his lips.
Joy (whispering):
“So… you’ve forgiven me…?”
Romi looked at him with a deep, piercing gaze.
Romi (firm voice):
“I’ve forgiven you… but don’t think I’ll forget.”
Joy walked alongside her. Romi stayed a few steps behind.
The spade was still in her hand—but this time, not to attack, only to defend.
The silence of the forest grew heavier.
As they walked, Joy glanced at her, his lips still carrying that weary smile.
Joy (softly, with hope):
“Tell me the truth, Romi…
Somewhere inside your heart… I still exist, don’t I?”
Romi stayed quiet.
Her silence was her answer—unfinished, but so deep that its echo thickened the air between them.
🎭 Scene 2 – Deep Inside the Forest, Among the Bushes
The darkness of the forest had grown denser.
The crooked branches above spread out like the claws of a monster.
Even the faintest rustle in the bushes echoed like a scream.
The moon hid behind clouds—and the silence hanging between the trees tolled like a bell of death.
Roz was running like a madwoman.
Her hair disheveled, her clothes torn.
Blood streaks mixed with dirt smeared across her face—like a beast disguised in human form.
Her eyes were wide, red, and gleaming. No sanity remained in them—only burned-out pain and a hunger for death.
As she ran, she suddenly burst into laughter.
Her laughter echoed through the forest—like a witch hiding among the trees.
Roz (screaming, laughter soaked in madness):
“Come on! Catch me!
Let’s see who’s afraid of who now!!
Are you the hunter?
Or just a dog, panting for breath?”
The Oldman was chasing her. The spade was still in his hand, but his body was worn out. Every step felt like his bones were breaking.
Suddenly, his foot struck against a root and he crashed to the ground.
Blood gushed from his leg.
The spade slipped from his hand and landed far away.
Oldman (clenching teeth, panting):
“Stop…
Today I’ll… make you pay for every sin…”
Roz’s eyes glimmered, then she shrieked loudly.
She slowly turned back, her laughter growing more hideous.
Roz (laughing wildly, screaming in madness):
“Punishment?
I’ve already given it!
Now… now it’s your turn!!!”
She leapt toward the bushes, snatched up the spade.
Her hands trembled, but her smile—her smile was the dance of death.
The Oldman crawled backward.
Fear filled his eyes—the same fear he had watched in the eyes of others for years.
Oldman (stammering, begging):
“Stop… don’t do this…
I… I—”
Roz’s eyes glowed redder than blood.
Her face twisted—like the true face of a psycho killer.
Roz (lifting the spade, screaming with every strike):
“This — is — the — answer — to — my — screams!!!”
The first strike…
The second strike…
The third… the fourth…
With each blow, her face grew more hideous, more deranged.
Her laughter turned into a grotesque mix of sobbing and screaming.
The Oldman’s body convulsed… then slowly grew still.
Blood seeped into the soil—as though the forest itself swallowed his corpse.
Roz sank onto the ground.
Her breathing ragged, her face hollow.
Madness still dripped from her eyes, but the laughter and the screams were gone.
Only silence remained.
The silence of death.
