Chapter 1: Arrival in the Town
Aria Bennett stepped off the bus, her suitcase dragging behind her on the cobblestone street. The small town of Ravenwood was quiet, almost unnaturally so. The mist clung to the streetlamps, making the entire town appear as if it were trapped between reality and a dream. Aria had come to Ravenwood to work on her writing, to find inspiration in the old streets and forgotten stories of the town. But as she walked toward the inn where she would be staying, a shiver ran down her spine. Something felt… off.
She shook the feeling away, blaming her imagination. After all, she had always been drawn to old, mysterious places. Yet, as she unpacked her things in the small, dimly lit room, she noticed a faint whisper outside her window. “Welcome, Aria…”
Her heart jumped, and she spun around. The street outside was empty. Only the mist moved, curling around the old stone walls like ghostly fingers. Aria sighed and told herself it was nothing, a trick of the wind. But deep down, she knew Ravenwood held secrets—and she had just arrived at the doorstep of them all.

Chapter 2: The Strange Encounter
The next morning, Aria wandered through the town square. Shops were closed, cobblestones glistened from the previous night’s rain, and the silence was almost tangible. At the corner of the square, she noticed a young man sitting on a bench, sketching something in a leather-bound notebook. His dark hair fell over his eyes, and his expression was intense, focused.
“Hello,” Aria called out, unsure why she felt compelled to speak.
The man looked up, his eyes locking onto hers. There was something in them—an unreadable depth, a storm behind calm waters. “Hello,” he replied, voice low, smooth, almost a whisper itself.
“I’m Aria. I just moved here,” she said, extending a hand.
“Ethan,” he replied, shaking her hand firmly. “I’ve lived here all my life. You’ll find Ravenwood has… its mysteries.”
Aria felt a thrill of curiosity. Something about Ethan intrigued her, and she couldn’t explain why. Maybe it was the way his gaze seemed to see through her, or the subtle warning in his tone. Whatever it was, she knew her time in Ravenwood would not be ordinary.

Chapter 3: Whisper in the Alley
That evening, Aria took a shortcut home through a narrow alley. The mist hung thick, and shadows danced along the walls. A whisper floated past her ear, soft and almost inaudible: “Find the truth…”
She froze. The alley seemed to stretch endlessly, twisting in ways that didn’t make sense. Her footsteps echoed loudly, too loudly, as if the walls themselves were listening.
Suddenly, a shadow darted across the far end of the alley. Aria’s heart pounded. She wanted to run, but something held her in place—an invisible pull, like the town itself was calling her deeper into its secrets.
And then she saw it: a small, torn piece of paper pinned to the wall, with one word written in elegant, slanted handwriting: Beware.
