Sarah was excited to spend a quiet weekend at the old Crestwood Hotel. It looked beautiful but a little old and spooky. She wanted to relax and finish her writing. When she arrived, the receptionist gave her a strange warning. “Room 217 is different. People don’t like staying there.” Sarah smiled and said, “I don’t mind. I like unusual things.” She took the key and went to her room.
The first night was quiet except for some strange creaking sounds from the old building. But Sarah felt very scared and nervous. It was like something was watching her.
The next day, Sarah asked a cleaning lady about Room 217. The woman whispered, “People who stay there sometimes disappear. No one knows why.” Sarah laughed, but inside she felt uneasy.
That night, as Sarah was about to sleep, the door of her room suddenly opened by itself. There was no wind. She quickly closed and locked it. Then she heard a soft whisper calling her name. The lights flickered, and shadows moved on the walls like monsters. Sarah’s heart was pounding.
Suddenly, the door opened again. A pale woman stood there. Her eyes were empty and dark. The woman silently mouthed the words “Help me.” Then, dark shadows wrapped around Sarah’s legs, trying to pull her out of the room.
Sarah struggled, and the woman disappeared.
Scared, Sarah ran to the hotel lobby and said she wanted to leave. The receptionist gave her an old newspaper. The headline read:
“A young woman disappeared from Room 217 five years ago.”
Her name was Margaret, and no one ever found her.
That night, back in Room 217, Sarah couldn’t sleep. The room felt alive and angry. She saw ghostly faces of other people who had disappeared before her. The walls started to crack and bleed dark shadows. The door vanished. She was trapped.
She looked in the mirror and saw her own eyes were empty and lifeless. A voice whispered, “You’re next.”
Sarah screamed and hit the walls, but no one could hear her. Time passed, but she didn’t know how long. She felt weaker and more scared.
Then she saw Margaret’s ghost again, reaching out to her, saying, “Join us forever.”
Sarah wanted to fight, but the darkness pulled her deeper and deeper. Her last breath was lost in the empty black room.

The next morning, the hotel staff found that Room 217 was gone — just a blank wall where it used to be.
Sarah had vanished, just like the others. The Vanishing Room had taken her soul.
The Crestwood Hotel is still there, waiting for its next guest.
People say that anyone who enters Room 217 never comes back. Late at night, faint lights flicker through the walls, and soft whispers echo through the empty halls, like desperate cries for help. It’s believed that those trapped inside are still there, lost in endless darkness, forever yearning for freedom — a freedom that may never come, as the vanishing room keeps claiming more souls, one by one.
