Nanadana - 1

Nandana was working in the kitchen, wanting to prepare something special for her husband.

Just then, Shekhar entered the house, calling out, **"Nandana! Nandana!"**

Surprised, she turned and said, **"Oh! You’re home already? Is office over so soon?"**

Shekhar replied, **"Not exactly, but come sit with me for a moment. I need to talk to you."**

**"Alright, let me bring you some water first,"** Nandana said as she went to fetch a glass.

Handing him the water, she asked, **"By the way, why is everyone so busy today? What’s going on?"**

Shekhar took a deep breath and said, **"Nandu, we had planned to shift houses next week, right? But we are moving today itself."**

Surprised, Nandana questioned, **"Why so suddenly? We were supposed to move next week!"**

**"No, Nandu. I have an important business commitment next week. We need to move today."**

Without further discussion, Nandana quietly went to pack their belongings, while Shekhar arranged for the rest of the household items to be transported.

---

By the time they reached the **new house**, it was already **midnight**.

As they settled in, Shekhar told her, **"I'll step out to get something. I'll be back soon."**

Nandana, feeling exhausted, looked around the house and went inside. She freshened up and tidied up their clothes. After dinner, both of them went to sleep.

The next morning, when Nandana woke up, she was surprised to see that all the household items had already been neatly arranged.

As she came downstairs after freshening up, she said, **"Shekhar, I didn’t notice it properly last night, but this house is really beautiful!"**

Shekhar smiled, **"Oh, so you really like it?"**

**"I love it, Shekhar!"** she said, stepping outside. The surroundings were breathtaking—**a vast garden, lush green trees, and a cool, refreshing breeze.**

Coming back inside, she said, **"Shekhar, the atmosphere here is amazing! I really like this place!"**

**"Alright, Madam, are you going to make breakfast for me, or are you just going to keep admiring the house?"** Shekhar teased.

**"Oh, I’ll make it right away!"** she laughed.

After breakfast, Shekhar left for the office, and Nandana went about organizing the house.

As she arranged her clothes in the shelf, she found a **photo frame of her father** in her bag. Holding it, she whispered, **"Dad, I miss you so much… From childhood, you were everything to me. You raised me like a mother, always protecting me."**

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she gazed at the picture. She gently hung it on the wall and smiled.

**"Don’t worry, Dad. Just like you took care of me, Shekhar is also taking good care of me."**

---

That night, after dinner, they both went to sleep peacefully.

The next morning, as Nandana was doing her household chores, she suddenly heard a **loud thud from upstairs.**

**"What was that?"** she muttered and rushed upstairs.

To her **shock**, her **father’s photo frame** had fallen and shattered into pieces.

She hurriedly picked up the frame, staring at the broken glass. **"How did this fall?"** she wondered, feeling uneasy.

Carefully removing the glass shards, she held the photo close to her heart, sighing, **"Oh no, Dad’s photo… How did it break like this?"**

Just then, her **phone rang.** She placed the frame aside and went to answer the call.

After finishing the call, she returned to clean up the broken frame. But when she looked at the spot again, her eyes **widened in shock.**

The **photo frame was perfectly intact**, hanging on the wall **as if nothing had happened.**

She froze in place, **her heart pounding.**

**"What’s happening? Just a while ago, I clearly saw it broken on the floor… But now, it’s back on the wall, completely fine?"**** she whispered, staring at the frame in disbelief.
