"The blood of evil, doesn't it excite you?" the man said. His words were perplexing, and she struggled to comprehend their meaning.
As the conversation dragged on, she grew increasingly irritated by the man's cryptic statements. Just as she was about to leave, he uttered another ominous phrase, "The next one will be in two days." Baffled and uneasy, she quickly departed leaving the enigmatic man.
Two days passed, and Nitya's dreams returned with a vengeance. This time, she saw herself committing the murder. The victim was the boy who recorded her neighbor's video, his pleas for forgiveness falling on deaf ears. She chased him through a labyrinthine alley, caught him, and cut his body in two. The blood excited her, sending shivers down her. She jolted awake, sweating and breathing heavily.
The next morning, She took bath and went downstairs for the breakfast. She was eating , when her mother shared the news over breakfast: the boy's body was found, cut in two parts, just like in her dream. Nitya's fear intensified, her heart racing with every passing moment.Till now she was dreaming only about the murders but this time she saw herself committing the murder. And what was that exciting she felt. Then she remembers what that man said at the temple.
Desperate for answers, Nitya returned to the temple, seeking the mysterious man. She asked the priests and devotees, but no one acknowledged his existence. Frustrated and defeated, she wandered around the temple, wondering if she had imagined the whole encounter.
That's when she saw the puppy again, the same one that had led her to him before. Without hesitation, she followed the puppy into the forest, the trees towering above her like sentinels.
In a clearing, she found the man sitting under a tree, his eyes fixed on her. "I knew you'd come," he said, his voice low and mysterious.
Nitya demanded explanations, her voice trembling. "How did you know when will the murder happen? And how am I able to see the future. What's happening to me?"
The man revealed, "You're not dreaming about murders; not you are seeing the future. You're the one committing them. You're the destined one, chosen by Goddess Mahakali to fulfill a divine task."
She got angry and refused to believe. "Why should I believe you? Do you have any proof?she asked. "You saw that yourself." the man said. She was shocked. She didn't want to believe him but all the things that's happened till now pointed to the same direction.
Seeing the troubled look on Nitya's face the man said, "Your subconscious self acts; you don't know about that. You're only a vessel for the goddess's wrath."
Nitya begged for help, She was unwilling to commit more murders."I don't want to kill anyone." she said. The man warned, "You can't escape until you complete your task. Even if you try to kill yourself, Mahakali won't allow it."
Nitya sat silently for a few minutes, pondering over the situation then she asked "When the next murder will occur . The man's gaze locked into hers. He paused for a while then said "In four days."
