Love at First Slight - 29

Rahul's Hotel Room, Singapore

Rahul walked into his lavish suite, the large glass windows offering a panoramic view of Singapore's skyline. The Marina Bay Sands infinity pool sparkled in the distance, and the city’s lights twinkled like stars. He poured himself a glass of sparkling water and leaned against the window, taking in the view.

Just as he sank into the plush armchair, his phone buzzed with a video call from his family. Smiling, he answered it.

Rahul: "Hello, my lovely family! What’s up?"

On the screen, his mom, dad, and Aarushi appeared. Aarushi, now 13 and full of teenage sass, waved dramatically at the camera.

Mom: “Mr. Global Visionary Leader, how does it feel to be the king of the world?”

Rahul: laughing “Feels pretty good, I must say. But I miss your food, Mom. These fancy hotel meals aren’t cutting it.”

Dad: teasing “Ah, the struggles of the rich and famous.”

Rahul: grinning “Exactly. You wouldn’t understand, Dad.”

Aarushi leaned into the camera, her eyes sparkling mischievously.

Aarushi: “Bhaiyya, you didn’t tell me girls were swooning over you during the award ceremony! Sham uncle already sent me clips!”

Rahul: smirking “Well, Aarushi, what can I say? It’s the charm.”

Mom: rolling her eyes “Stop teaching your sister nonsense.”

Aarushi: “What? I think Bhaiyya should find someone already! He’s 29 now, and you’re always alone!”

Rahul: “Excuse me, Ms. Aarushi. I’m perfectly fine on my own, thank you very much.”

Dad: “But she has a point, Rahul. We wouldn’t mind seeing you settle down.”

Rahul leaned back, pretending to look thoughtful.

Rahul: “Hmm, maybe I should set Aarushi up first. I’ve seen some suspicious texts on her phone recently.”

Aarushi: gasping dramatically “How dare you, Bhaiyya! My personal life is none of your business!”

Rahul: grinning “Exactly, and mine is none of yours.”

Mom: laughing “Rahul, stop teasing her!”

Dad: “But seriously, son, we’re proud of you. Watching you receive that award was one of the happiest moments of our lives.”

Rahul’s expression softened, and he gave a genuine smile.

Rahul: “Thanks, Dad. It means a lot. Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without you all.”

Aarushi: “Okay, emotional moment over! Bhaiyya, you’re staying there for four days, right? Are you bringing us souvenirs?”

Rahul: “Of course! But only if you send me a list of what you want within an hour.”

Aarushi: “Challenge accepted!”

Mom: “And don’t forget to eat properly, Rahul. These hotel stays aren’t good for your health. Call me if you need advice on the menu.”

Rahul: chuckling “Got it, Mom. I’ll survive.”

As the call ended, Rahul leaned back and looked out at the glowing city again, his heart full. No matter how much success he achieved, his family always kept him grounded. 🌟

. His phone buzzed with an  anothor incoming video call. It was Radha. A small smile spread across his face as he quickly adjusted his shirt and answered.

The screen lit up with Radha’s face. She was sitting on her bed, her hair falling in soft waves over her shoulder. She wore a simple peach kurti that highlighted her radiant complexion. Her big, expressive eyes sparkled with mischief, and every now and then, when she laughed, her dimples appeared, making her look irresistibly cute.

Rahul: “Wow, look at you. Are you trying to make me jealous of your glow?”

Radha: smiling shyly “Jealous? Of what?”

Rahul: “That your glow can outshine Singapore’s skyline.”

Radha: blushing slightly but rolling her eyes “Rahul, stop being cheesy. I called for something important.”

Rahul: “Oh, is it to confess that you can’t stop thinking about me?”

Radha leaned closer to the camera, her dimples deepening as she tried to keep a straight face.

Radha: “I’m being serious! Your trip is almost over, and you’ll be back in India soon, right?”

Rahul: “Yes, finally! I’ll be home in just a few days.”

Radha: “Perfect. So, what do you want as a gift when you get back?”

Rahul leaned back, pretending to think hard.

Rahul: “Hmm… that’s a tough question.”
Radha: “Don’t make it tough. Just tell me!”

He leaned closer to the camera, smirking.

Rahul: “Okay, I’ll tell you. I want you.”

Radha: gasping dramatically “Rahul! Tumhe sharam nahi aati?”

Rahul: “Not when it comes to you.”

Radha laughed, her dimples making an appearance again.

Radha: “Stop being impossible. Be serious!”

Rahul: “I am serious. But okay, if I have to pick something else…”

He paused, giving her a teasing look.

Rahul: “I’ll give you a hint. It’s something you can only give me when we meet in person.”

Radha: raising an eyebrow “Is this another one of your naughty tricks?”

Rahul: grinning “Maybe. Guess!”

Radha: pretending to think “A hug?”

Rahul: “Close…”

Radha: narrowing her eyes “Don’t you dare say a kiss.”

Rahul: laughing “Why not? That’s a perfect gift!”

Radha: playfully covering her face with her hands “You’re shameless!”

They both laughed, the teasing filling the silence with warmth.

Radha: softly “Okay, okay. I’ll think of something. But it’ll be special, I promise.”

Rahul: “Anything from you is special, Radha.”

Her cheeks turned a faint pink as she tried to hide her smile.

Radha: “Bas, Rahul. You’ll turn me into a tomato at this rate.”

Rahul: “Tomato or not, you’re still the most beautiful girl in the world.”

Radha laughed again, her dimples showing once more.

Radha: “Alright, Mr. Flirt. Go to bed now. You must be tired after all those events.”

Rahul: “Tired? Never. Not when you’re here to keep me company.”

She smiled, shaking her head, and gave him a soft, affectionate look.

Radha: “Goodnight, Rahul. And don’t worry about the gift. It’ll be worth the wait.”

Rahul: “Goodnight, Radha. And just so you know, you’re the best gift I could ever ask for.”

They ended the call, leaving Rahul grinning like a fool as he lay back on his bed, already counting the days until he could see her again. 🌸
