Expectations
When I come back home find Mr. Davis watering his plants and Mrs. Marie’s plants. They both have planted different plants on the floor. I don’t have much interest so I stay away from gardening. In my balcony I have kept some plastic plants just for decoration. He sees me coming and smiles. Hello! Mr. Davis so you are watering the plants. You know Nora, I am an old man and don’t have much work to do. So, I decided to look after Mrs. Marie’s plants because they also need care and are innocent and why would they suffer. I agree with him. I come inside and check my cell phone again. I see Gloria’s message in group.

What are you all doing this weekend?
I am going to my aunt and don’t know about others.

All of them seems busy, I also put down the phone and make coffee.
I go to my balcony and see the stars in the sky it was around 9 pm. I turn around and find Mr. Davis enjoying music and eating and the other side was quite peaceful. Oh! Mrs Marie hope you are fine and come back for your son. But why did you lie to me? I still don’t find any reason. I come back to my bedroom and open the closet to pack clothes for tomorrow because I had to go from office directly. After couple of months, I will purchase my own car so that I need not to book a cab every time. This thought makes me smile. I finish my packing and pick Brownie and lay on bed. Today, we both sleep together. Before I go to sleep, I check my Facebook and Instagram nothing new, same old pics of people who are happy or pretend to be happy. I see Rosy posted her pictures with new boyfriend as last month she had a breakup so she was sharing sad quotes and pics. However, she has found another reason to smile. People should learn to move on after all this is life and we cannot stick to our past. But look at me my friends are happily engaged and I am liking their pictures. But this time I am not in a mood to hurry. Slowly, I want to fall in love. Thinking this George picture comes to my mind. I laugh. What if he doesn’t come back? What if he decides to stay in Scotland for always? It’s okay Nora, and I calm down myself. You have not fallen for him. My subconscious answer to my doubtful questions and I agree with it. He is just Mrs. Marie’s son.
Next morning, I reach office with my small bag of clothes. Lily wishes ‘’good morning! Miss. Nora.’’ Stella also gives me big smile and turn back to her laptop. Victor is all in his files. I open my cabin keep the bag and about to begin the work. Suddenly, Margarete comes to my office and asks How are you, Nora? It seems you are like a boss as staff is taking you seriously. They must! I showed Victor his place because he crossed his boundaries. Who told him about dinner? My friend Hannah she is his fiancée. Oh really! She must look for a better option you know that once he even tried flirting with me too. I am not surprised; he did this to number of girls. But now he is finally in love with my friend as he is going to be a rich man. I give her a wicked smile and she laughs. I see you in lunch break. After few moments my boss Mr. Ethan calls me in my office. He asks me to sit. Nora, I think you should come with me as this is an important merger for our company. We are going to purchase three stores. These stores will be under our name “Hangout with products”. That’s right! this is our store name. We already have chain of five stores in New York and Connecticut and now these stores will be in Alaska and New Jersey. This thought makes me excited too. I could see my boss excitement. I will promote you as a manager for one of these stores. I smile. Just bring that file so that we can go tomorrow for meeting.
Mr. Ethan. I am glad that you asked me to come along with you. But my aunt is suffering from health issues. She called me urgently. So, I need to go Texas to visit her place. Hope you understand my problem. Of course, I understand was just asking because tomorrow is Saturday and first, we will have meeting and then can have lunch together. I smile listening this. He made his own plans, idiot. If you are going to your aunt then I won’t stop you because her health is more important. I will go for this meeting on my own, not to worry, you go to your aunt. Thank you, Mr. Ethan for understanding me. No problem, you are always welcome. And another important thing which I forgot to tell. Today is Victor’s last day. He wants to quit. So, settle his account with necessary changes as you shown me earlier. Is he really leaving? He was supposed to go next week. What about his pending work? I ask him furiously. We thought so but he is saying he has to go to Florida to visit his parents and it will be a long holiday. His work will be finished today only. Good for him. I will clear his account. I come back to my cabin and take long breath. I opened my bag and find the key of my locker missing. Oh my God! Where is it? I always keep it in my inner pocket of my bag. Till yesterday it was there. Who stole it? I am going to cry. No, Mr. Ethan will make this day my last day in the office.
