· Jumping Jacks- Jumping jacks is one of the basic exercises which targets your whole body and is the simplest cardio exercise.

· Pushups- Pushups are the simplest yet most effective exercise to build upper body strength. Performing pushups with the correct form targets a person’s chest, biceps, triceps as a whole.

There are many variations of pushups which are used to individually target the particular body muscle. For e.g.

§ Wide hand pushups are used to target the chest.

§ Close hand pushups are used to target the triceps.

§ Diamond pushups are used to target the biceps.

· Burpees- Burpees are one of the best cardio exercises for effective calorie burn. Burpees are so effective because it combines different exercises into one. Burpees include squats, planks and an explosive jump. Combining all makes it an effective full body workout altogether. Include some variations and it becomes even better. Some variations of Burpees are –

§ Pushup Burpee- Perform a pushup while in plank position in the burpee.

§ Star Burpee- While jumping, extend your hands and legs like a star.

§ Superman Burpee- When in plank position, lie down and on your stomach and lift your hands, legs and your head above the ground.

· Plank- Plank is a very effective exercise which targets the arms and the abs region. Plank is one of the most effective exercises to develop core strength. While the exercise targets only the arms and the abs, certain variations make it a effective full body workout.

§ Plank jack is a variation of plank which is also a cardio workout as it combines a plank as well as jumping jack.

§ Pile plank jack is a variation which itself is a variation of plank jack. While performing plank jack, move your body into a pile position in each rep.

§ Hip twist- While in plank position, twist your hips towards your left side and then to your right side and then back to normal position. This exercise helps targets your lats along with your abs.
