The Emperor (Novella) - Chapter 8 - Birth of Yuvraj

Chapter 8
Birth of Yuvraj

I had also joined my father’s hotel business which was located at different places in Madhya Pradesh. The revenue generated in hotel was abundant, and we were satisfied in that. So, there was no project of expansion. Mostly hotels were located in city areas, and few were near to jungle where visitors were coming, but my actual focus was into the remote areas of my state. It is also fact that even if we want to change we have to start with smallest fraction. That would lead towards hefty changes.
As I told you before there were few villages, and hamlets were there which I had never visited before, and when I visited those places I was surprised that there was lack of basic amenities like road for transportation, some villages had roads but there was no electricity, I also observed few villages where there was no availability of water in their own villages so they have to go to other villages or big towns to fetch the water, and they were doing because those were their basic need. If they don’t do, they can’t get it. Their most of the time and attention were focused to get the basic facility. So they were not able to focus on some other important factors like education, hygiene, sex ratio, and some other important aspects.
There were some villages which were so much filthy, and when I inquired to officials in authority about their health. I found that there were too many cases registered of harmful disease. Some were vectors and some were succumbed by coming in contact with others. So, this was the scenario in remote areas, and I closely observed and took a note of them in my diary as per situation in village.
While I was travelling for research, I received the news from my beloved wife that she was pregnant, and that moment was very precious for me. I had a very different feeling. To become a father is a best feeling for a man, and you can say we were on cloud nine. That enhanced my enthusiasm, and I became more ardent towards my work.
The summer season was already begun, and election of state Legislative Assembly was declared few months ago, I participated for election, and I was expecting a victory as it was the first time that someone from our royal family was participating in election after death of my father, and I had also done hard work and visited almost all the villages of my constituencies. It was different experience for me as I was not experienced politician. I was rather a new comer, and the promises that I gave in my manifesto were also for fulfillment of basic necessity of the people. I was eagerly waiting for the day when results were going to be declared.
I remembered the day when the results were declared. We were all sitting over there inside my office, and watching TV as one after another EVM was getting opened. Meanwhile, I received a call from my home, and there was Ramukaka on the other side. There was some technical problem due to network, and that’s why I couldn’t listen his voice, so I went outside to listen him properly, and when I reached outside.
“ Badhai ho Beta. Tum Papa ban gaye ho. Ladka hua hai.”
“oh wah. That is really great news. Thank you thank you Ramukaka.”
“ How are they both ?”
“They are good. Son is born healthy.”
I literally jumped over there, and reached inside to tell some of my friends this good news. But, when I reached inside and saw there they were already dancing. I was astonished how did they get the news?
One guy came closer to me, embraced me and said,
“Congratulations. You have won the election.”
“Oh. What a great coincidence.” My happiness was twinned.
I was very happy because it was doubled. I announced celebrations over there.
I left my office quickly after announcing party, and I reached to hospital where Roshni was admitted. I parked car in parking lot, and I quickly ascended stairs, entered into the room where Roshni, and my baby boy was over there. I looked at everyone, and everyone was looking at me. I moved forward towards bed, and saw Roshni was smiling at me. I took baby boy in my hand and just touched his cheek. I couldn’t resist myself to kiss him on cheek, and that bright face was looking really charming. I felt very great. I decided that I would give him name as Yuvraj. So, that became Yuvrajsinh Rathore.
