Sunaina, a young girl in her early teens, attends a traditional family wedding in Tamil Nadu with her parents. Although she usually avoids such gatherings, her mother insists on going because it's a close family member's wedding. Upon arrival, Sunaina feels overwhelmed by the attention she receives, as family members admire her looks, particularly her "dove-shaped eyes." As the day progresses, she is dressed up in a traditional outfit and adorned with jewelry, causing her to feel even more scrutinized. While her relatives engage in their customs, she notices two of her cousins, Neeta and Ravi, glaring at her, feeling as though they resent her for stealing their spotlight. The situation escalates when Sunaina is introduced to a maternal uncle who is significantly older than her. She feels uncomfortable when he squeezes her hand and winks at her, making the once joyful occasion turn into a distressing experience.
