અનિષા નવમા ધોરણમાં અભ્યાસ કરતી એક સરળ, શાંતિપ્રિય અને મહેનતી વિદ્યાર્થિની હતી. એનો અભ્યાસમાં ખાસ કરીને ભાષા અને વિજ્ઞાનમાં મોટો રસ હતો. ઘરમાં પણ બધાં એને અભ્યાસ માટે પ્રોત્સાહિત કરતા. પુસ્તકો એના સહચર હતા અને નવું શીખવા માટે એની અંદર જિજ્ઞાસાનો દિવાસળિયો હંમેશા સળગતો રહેતો.પરંતુ, દરેક બાળકની જેમ એનો પણ એક એવો વિષય હતો, જે એની માટે પડકારરૂપ હતો — ગણિત. શાળાના આખા વર્ષ દરમિયાન ગણિત એ માટે એક અજાણી ગૂંચવણ જેવું રહ્યું. એ નિયમિત અભ્યાસ કરતી, શિક્ષકને પ્રશ્નો પૂછતી, અને દિવસનો વધારે સમય ગણિત માટે ફાળવતી. છતાં પણ એના માટે ગણિતનું સરળીકરણ, સૂત્રો અને ગણતરીઓ એક અજ્ઞાત રહસ્ય જેવું
