Renu, exhausted from a long day of balancing her roles as a mother, wife, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, officer, neighbor, cook, and shopper, feels the weight of societal expectations pressing down on her. Despite her efforts to keep everyone in her family happy, she struggles with the desire to take a moment for herself to cry. On her way home, she waits on a foot over bridge and observes a group of women who embody a lifestyle she feels disconnected from. She tries to distance herself from them, yet finds herself intrigued by their confidence and freedom. As she watches, a confrontation occurs between the women and a drunk man, highlighting the stark realities of their lives. When her husband arrives, he scolds her for standing near them, reflecting societal judgments on women like Renu. She walks away silently, tears in her eyes, contemplating how those women, despite their struggles, at least receive compensation for their humiliation and the suppression of their desires, contrasting with her own unrecognized sacrifices.
