The elder brother's wife instructs her husband to retrieve the box from their father's room, and she locks the door behind them. They find a box under the bed, which contains several books, much to their surprise. The elder brother's wife expresses her disappointment, having expected to find money or jewels instead. However, the younger brother discovers a small cloth bag in the corner of the box, which contains some money and a paper. Upon reading the paper, they realize it is a note stating that the money is meant for the father's funeral expenses. This revelation highlights the father's frugality and the true nature of his legacy.
