૧. હાથીના દાંતરાત્રે પાર્ટીમાં જઈને પાછી ફરેલી આધુનિક માતાએ પોતાની સોળ વર્ષની પુત્રીને મોબાઈલમાં અભ્યાસનું વાંચતા જોઈ. માતાને થયું કે પુત્રી અડધી રાત્રે તેના બોયફ્રેન્ડ સાથે ચેટિંગ કરી રહી છે. એટલે કહ્યું:"શું જમાનો આવ્યો છે, અમે તો આ ઉંમરે કોઈ છોકરા સાથે વાત કરી શકતી ન હતી. તારા પપ્પા સાથે લગ્ન ગોઠવાયું પછી કાગળ લખવાની હિંમત થતી ન હતી...હવે આ બધું બંધ કર અને સૂઈ જા..."મા પોતાના બેડરૂમમાં ગઈ. પતિ નિરાંતે સૂતો હતો. એણે મોબાઈલ ખોલ્યો અને પુરુષ મિત્ર સાથે ચેટીંગ કરવા લાગી. ૨. ભીખનલીનભાઇ ટ્રેનમાં એક રોગગ્રસ્ત ભિખારીને વઢવા લાગ્યા:"ભીખ માંગતા શરમ નથી આવતી? મહેનત કર. મફતનું લેવા દોડી આવે છે?"ભિખારી
