Psychologists refer to this concept as "locus of control." An "internal locus of control" means that individuals believe they are in charge of their life decisions, while an "external locus of control" suggests that people feel influenced or dictated by external forces, such as others' actions or circumstances. Those with an internal locus tend to perform better and experience less stress compared to those with an external locus. The Law of Control emphasizes that change is both inevitable and accelerating, which can be daunting for many. However, setting goals is crucial, as it helps individuals steer the direction of the changes they face, empowering them and enhancing their sense of control. The first corollary of this law states that controlled change leads to greater achievement than uncontrolled change. By consistently working towards important goals, individuals can ensure they feel more accomplished and maintain a sense of control in their lives.
