However, Lakshman was not laughing at anyone; he was laughing at the impending tragedy of having to fall into a deep sleep as the goddess of sleep, Nidra, approached him. He had dedicated 14 years to serving Rama and now had to keep his promise, losing sight of his greatest wish—witnessing his brother being crowned king.
