2.આગળનો રસ્તો તો કાંટાળી ડાળીઓ અને પાણી પાસે કાંકરાઓથી ભરેલો હતો. બુટ નીચે પણ કાંટા, કાંકરાઓ વાગે એવું હતું. દર્શકના ટીશર્ટ પર કાંટાઓ ચોંટતા હતા, તેનાં બાવડે ઉઝરડાઓ પાડતા હતા.દર્શક કાંટાળી ઝાડીઓ વચ્ચેથી મર્દ કરતો એ સ્ત્રીનો અવાજ આવેલો એ તરફ ગયો. ફરીથી ધીમો, ગુસપુસ જેવો ધીમો પણ કદાચ આક્રંદ કરતો, કણસતો અવાજ નજીકમાં જ સંભળાયો. દર્શકની એકદમ નજીક. તે થોભ્યો અને આસપાસ જોયું.ફરીથી એકદમ શાંતિ પથરાઈ રહી. માત્ર પોતાના બૂટનો જ અવાજ અને હા, કોઈક અજબ ખખડાટ ઝાડીમાં થતો હતો. સાપ હશે? પણ આ ખખડાટ થોડે ઊંચે પણ થતો હતો.એ થોડી વાર શાંત ઊભો. ઉપર ઝાડીમાંથી ચાંદનીનાં કિરણો પથરાઈ
