Japanese Philosophy Japanese philosophy has historically beena fusion of both indigenous Shinto and continental religions, such as Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.Japanese philosophers have wielded considerable influences on the society and culture of Japan as well as the Eastern and Southeast Asian countries since the medieval era. This article presents a chronological review of some of the major Japanese philosophers of the Twentieth Century.
