Gomang grew up in a very small village near Leh, consisting of just a few homes and belonging to a backward tribal community. Unlike others in his village, who were content living a simple life, Gomang was eager for knowledge. He secretly traveled to a school twelve kilometers away and worked hard to study, eventually passing the tenth grade. One memorable experience for Gomang was when a classmate's mother introduced him to an orange, a fruit he had never seen before. This moment highlighted his unfamiliarity with the outside world, as he had only known apples. With the support of his friend's family, Gomang continued his education and eventually earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He became a teacher in the village school, integrating into the community and moving on from his humble beginnings. The narrative illustrates themes of aspiration, education, and transformation.
