The story revolves around a 10-year-old boy named Rakesh, who is playing football with his friends in the playground on a pleasant evening. His father, Mr. Rameshwar Singh, is taking a bath outside their house, which is surrounded by a fragrant garden filled with chirping birds. Suddenly, their game is interrupted by the arrival of a Sadhu, chanting the mantra "Alakh Niranjan" while leading a large buffalo, accompanied by curious villagers. Rameshwar Singh is a high school teacher known for his atheistic beliefs and social service, and he has little tolerance for idol worship. The villagers, aware of his temperament, are intrigued by the encounter between Rameshwar and the Sadhu. The Sadhu is famous for performing miracles, such as producing sweets and money from thin air, which fascinates the villagers. When the Sadhu approaches Rameshwar's garden, Rameshwar scolds him to leave, surprising the Sadhu, who realizes he has been misled by the villagers into believing Rameshwar was a devotee. In retaliation, the Sadhu performs a miracle by conjuring money, drawing the awe of the spectators. However, rather than being impressed, Rameshwar becomes even angrier and demands the Sadhu leave. The Sadhu, now enraged, threatens Rameshwar, indicating he will turn him into a rat. The tension escalates as the story unfolds.
