Gauri, a grandmother in her late 60s, has been living for her grandchildren after the tragic death of her son Vishwanath and daughter-in-law Sumathi in an accident. Overwhelmed with grief, Gauri initially wished to give up on life but found strength in her desire to care for her grandchildren. To support them, she worked as a maid and eventually managed to buy a home and a shop. Her 14-year-old granddaughter Sia is determined to help her grandmother and strive for independence. Sia attends school and also works in a shop, returning home late each day. She often tries to take on household tasks, much to Gauri's dismay, as Gauri insists she should rest after her long day of work. Sia's younger brother Sahil, who is 9, also attends school with Sia. The family dynamic is characterized by Gauri's strong will to empower Sia through education, despite her own background of child marriage. The story highlights themes of resilience, family bonds, and the importance of education.
