The story revolves around a girl named Aditi and a group of troublesome boys known as the Kholi boys, led by Uday. These boys frequently disrupt class and engage in inappropriate behavior. Aditi, a smart and ambitious girl from a middle-class family, aspires to be a computer engineer with the help of her older brother. The narrative unfolds during the last day of their ninth-grade exams in a dilapidated school. After a chaotic exam period, Uday and his friends start bullying the girls. Aditi confronts Uday, leading to a tense moment where she manages to escape his advances. She hides in a garbage area, where Uday and his gang continue to search for her. When Uday finds her, a struggle ensues, and he accidentally injures himself, leading to a state of unconsciousness. A month later, Aditi returns to school, haunted by the fear that she might have caused Uday's injury. When Uday reappears in class, she panics, thinking he is a ghost. Her friends believe her fear stems from his previous actions against her. However, they later learn that Uday had been severely beaten by someone else after she escaped and was found unconscious by his mother, who took him to the hospital.
