What’s the Difference Between CC and BCC When Sending an Email? To: the person to whom the email is addressed CC: the people who need to be in the loop but don't necessarily have to take action BCC: if you add someone's name in bcc, people in to and cc wouldn't know it but people in bcc would know who was added in to and cc. If you added more than one person in bcc, they would not know it. Essentially, if a person has been added to bcc, now one else would know that he or she received the email. BCC is useful if you want to let your colleagues know that you had a baby but don't want idiots to use "Reply all" to congratulate you while spamming everyone else's inbox.
